It's time again- I know you've all been dreading it, but hey- it's not like it costs anything extra...
For the uninitiated, here's the deal: Every year for the past 5 years I've asked the AO Community to come up with some decent vanity license plate ideas- I choose at least 10 or so that I'll be proud to display on my car, and put it to a vote here in the forums.
Whichever plate gets the most votes is what I register my car with for the next year.
Here's the list of previous license plates I've had, all chosen by the Anarchy Online Community:
2007 - KTHXBYE
2008 - RUBI-KA
2009 - OMNITEK
2010 - FROOB
2011 - RU-NUBI (the current plate)
Here are the rules:
Plate Rules- New Hampshire State law requires vanity plates adhere to the following:
- Only use the characters A-Z, 1-9 (letter O substitutes for number 0), dash (-), plus (+) and ampersand (&).
- From 2 to 7 characters in length
- Must have at least two different characters, where one of them isn't the letter O (so "ZOO" (one of the two letters is an O) and "22O3O7O" (the one letter in it happens to be a O) are invalid, but "BOOZE", and "22O3ONT" are valid).
My Rules- As stated in previous contests,
- It needs to be recognizable by a fellow AO player... I had a tough time trying to explain that KTHXBYE did not mean "kill the ex, bye" as in ex-girlfriend.
- Nothing offensive. I do want to avoid offending people, so while "NTNUKES" is a available, it looks too similar to "NYNUKED" (which is indeed unfortunate as I am an NT)
- None of the old plates can be reused.
To check for plate availability, go to the NH Division of Motor Vehicles site http://www.egov.nh.gov/platecheck/. Select "Passenger Vehicles", then "Passenger (ipass)", then enter the plate to search for- if it's available, post it here in this thread.
On February 17th I'll pick what I think are the best of the bunch (I usually pick quite a few) and get a poll set up in the thread for voting- I have to register the car by March 2nd (technically March 4th, but that's a Sunday, and driving around in an unregistered car Monday morning would be illegal), at which time I'll get a temporary plate- The metal version will come in the mail about 2-3 weeks later.
That's it- dem's da roolz, and thanks again for all the years of fun!
