Economy always progresses like this, the longer a commodity is around the less it is valued because there becomes more and more over time. Unlike a Pioneer backpack which is no longer dropped. The decrease in CC / CSS prices is a good thing and natural, not something indicating a increase in game degradation. If anything the drop in price is due to the several patches since AI was released, DB armor etc..

As has been mentioned in this thread 17.10 has been developing on test all this time, with quite a few new versions. It is getting closer to being ready for the live dimensions but there are a few things that the folks here are still looking at. We hope that it will be good to go very shortly.
As mentioned before it's likely that we will keep working on instancing Pandemonium separately and push out the new system with the three alien sectors instanced. Pandemonium will take a little extra work that we will most likely complete in a follow up patch (whether thats a 17.10.x or a future update remains to be seen).
As the folks who got to meet and chat with us at Dragoncon found out the work on the booster pack is continuing and shaping up nicely. It shouldn't be too long before we are in a position to start some form of public testing of that content (not going to put a date on it yet, but it is progressing nicely)

There isn't really any new information to give. As I mentioned last time the work is progressing, the core engine part is pretty much done but there is a lot of work to do relating to all the effects in the game before we can consider testing. That is still the case as it was the last time we talked about the engine. You can be sure that as soon as there is an update on the progress there that we can share we will![]()

Honestly Sil, that's all we really want to know...is that it's still being worked on, whether there's any update to give or not. So, it wouldn't hurt to make a post about it every now and then. I may post useless crap about how I think it's just a myth, but that's really only because you guys have been so tight lipped about it so I go to the extreme. I just like to be all "Doom & Gloom" in my posts, but it's just an act. I really don't believe the things I type.
Really, there should be some kind of update to give us every now and then though...even if you said something like "The work on the new engine is progressing nicely, and we feel it will still be released by the end of the year." That's what we (or at least me) want to know, because sadly, that's the ONLY thing keeping me around. I don't care about anything else in the works, I just want that new engine!!!![]()

Someone mentioned that you said at DragonCon that the download for the new engine will not be a big one. This suggests that all current game textures will work 'as is' with the new engine and do not need to be modified to run with the new engine. Will there need to be a one-time utility run to perhaps 'process' all the textures to make them palatable to the new engine, or do they really work with it un-modified?
As for making all the new 'casting' effects, that sounds like it could take longer than creating the engine itself if you still have mainly 1 person working on the project. How about putting that team of chinese animators who just finished redoing all the female animations in AoC (so they do same dmg as male avatars) to work on a set of new casting effects?
