    Everything seems to be moving along nicely...I'm glad to see things are finally moving.

    Whats happened to all the folks that would be on around 21:00+ hrs US Central? ...the place is becoming a morgue.

    Thanks for the huge amount of info, Means It's good to see things are coming along well.

    Is this AoE nerf also intended to reduce the amount of kiting in game and bring back 'proper' levelling? If so I see this as a good sign, nerf OSTs next please

    I should clear that up...it isn't the DBA's fault...he didn't know we would be building at 11:30pm at night. He was doing a good job as always taking care of the systems..Just bad luck nothing more nothing less.

    An odd thought regarding build times and 2 clients.

    1 Client to Rule them all. 1 Client to build for them. 1 Client to distribute. 1 Client to bring them all to AO and make Subscribe.

    Seriously though. Since Froobs can log in using the "large client" it is somewhat counter intuvitive to continue the double client system. Esp when the installer I tried recently installed the Large Client anyways.

    Cut your build time in half and ditch the baby client.

    Maybe y'all should just get rid of the small client. I would tell any newbie to dl the large client anyway, that way he doesn't have to reinstall if he decides to upgrade. At the very least, it would save you guys a bit of work at times like this.

    Froobs being able to enter some AI buildings is one of those things I desperately want to get done...but never seem to find the time to get to.

    Yes.."Death Loop" would be an awesome name for a Funcom Staff only death metal band. If I had any talent at all I would love to do that (the ability to sing without causing internal injuries in others would be a plus). The previous lead designer before me went on to be the bassist in a band called the Trash Can Darlings...I don't think the band still performs but they were a lot of fun to see live.

    The land needs to be handed out manually so it is likely there will also be a "startup package" of some kind to make things easier for everyone.

    Your name issue isn't 100% covered off in our current rules...I'll have to get back to you on that.

    wow it seems that the engine is really starting to come together!

    Any idea when it will be possible to test the new engine?

    Hey Means,

    is there any estimated distance you have scheduled for your programmers to finish work in Character Transfer? I dont want to have a specific date like 7th Feb. but it would be great to know if you are planning to release the transfer in about 2 weeks, 2 months or like 4 months...

    I work in management of a billion dollar company, and all I can say is that when working on timeframes, always double how long something 'should' take. Vast ****-ups like the one you describe are par for the course. Most days I go to work with one goal in mind, and by the end of the day, have resolved 5 problematic issues, but only half completed my goal.

    Its just the way it is. But you probably know that.
