It is always Funcom's fault!!!Originally posted by Drabin
As for this booster pack and this silly thread - blame the vendors not FC. The booster packs arrived in the U.S. (at least for those that pre-ordered) on Wednesday for most of us. Friday was a suitable start date and I don't see anything wrong with the date (even if I were on the flipside).
Seriously though, it is FC's fault for not giving the distributors enough time to make sure the product is available all over the world at the same time. A lot of games goes gold well over a month before launch in order for them to be in place all at the same time which FC didn't bother with..
Since AO's market penetration is so weak FC should also have signed up with a more trustworthy online distributor than Digital River. Funcom is the developer and publisher of AO and it falls to them to make the product available through deals they make with manufacturers and distributors. I just noticed that one of the very few places in Sweden where you can actually find any mention of NW at all, Webhallen.com, has a new release date that they must have updated today, Dec. 3rd.
All in all it is yet another example of FC rushing things in order to get them out of the door and damn the consequences. Sad...
And imagine that so much of this could have been avoided if they had let people pay and download it straight from the web.
