According to ymera and auno.org 15-20% of the population are MAs?

What's that all about?*

Have been like 15% MAs from the start, so nothing new really, now we not extremly gimped so you see us more in PvP and also as good group members in PvM

Not sure about the stats on Auno.org, but ymera only takes into account guilded people, too. So it may not be completely exact. Well, close to it maybe

tried tp look up some of my unguilded alts, and they don't show up

Aside from the fact that MA is a strong class, I see a couple possible explanations.

A new player thinks, "Well, if I play an MA I won't need any weapons, therefore that is one less item to have to scrape up money to afford."

Maybe they are roleplaying rebels! "Down with technology! The lead pencil will prevail!" -- Ever notice how MA mobs have names like, Seasoned Lunatic, Veteran Techwrecker ?

Lately it's been Fixers. You can't throw a rock without it hitting a Fixer, bouncing off, and hitting 2 more Fixers.

Speaking of popular professions, it seems to me that there are alot more clan Adventurers than Omni Adventurers. I don't seem to see them all that often in Entertainment, for example. But Tir is full of them.

more like throw a rock and miss 3 fixers, while the rock is 10 meters across and the fixers are chained to a tree (but there all wearing grid armor).

rocks don't bounce off fixers
they either go through them, or kill them and get stuck
