How Green is Your Slayerdroid?
You might remember that a few years ago the Unicorns stationed around Rubi-Ka, under advisement from several high-level Omni-Tek fashionistas, took to wearing pink power suits for a brief time and became the basis for the prize winning children's tale "The Pink Unicorns of Rome." ChitChat magazine has recently discovered uncensored documents marked for CEO Zora's eyes only, confirming Omni-Tek's most recent 'counter attack' on the increasing fashion sense of it's employees.
Starting this fall, if these Omni-Tek officials receive approval, the standard white slayerdroid issued to many employees, will be replaced by one or more of the following colors: green, blue or pink. It is also stated in theses documents that a new gold-plated slayerdroid will be issued for use by honor guards and during ceremonial events. Many of the arguments outlined in the document suggest that these might not be for purely fashionable reasons. White does tend to stand out in the greens, blues and reds of Rubi-Ka and thus the choice of colors would provide a concealment benefit for military applications.
No estimates are listed for the potential cost to construct and replace the many thousands of slayerdroids in perfect functioning condition, but it is believed that it would be in the hundreds of millions of credits. One might wonder if the reason has more to do with the new uniforms issued the ICC guards across the planet. Opinion of the new ICC uniforms have been almost universally positive and therefore might be creating a new surge of interest in changing Omni-Tek fashions. Another reason might the increase in usage of an ancient tradition that "White should not be worn after Labor Day."
