Thread: rework on perk mechanics.

    rework on perk mechanics.

I would like to see a complete rework on how perks work.
instead of being a full tradeoff Attack vs Def check i would like to see it be a % based resist system like the regular hits and nanos are.

for instance 3k AR vs 5k def = 40% chance to land

    or something like that.

Or, a much better idea, all perks land no matter what. The damage scales from negligible (up to a cap amount (not the 30% cap, but a set maximum amount for each perk like we already have)) after taking the attacker's AR versus the defenders Def into consideration.

This way, all debuff perks always land (perhaps these should scale a bit too, though), and all damage perks always land. But if you have excellent evades, the damage is negligible, but less frustrating it is now when perks simply don't land at all.

Would you rather have perks not land at all on an evade prof, or have perks do 100 damage each?

Nano resist works like this, as do regular hits vs evades, yet you've whined plenty in this very forum about how Traders always land stuff against your "4K NR" and you can never hit Fixers enough.

    this is a good idea:

    a 1:1 atck/def ration would net you a 50% chance to land/miss
    a 2:1 atck/def would be 75% to land 25% to miss
    a 4:1 atck/def would be 87.5% to land 12.5% miss

    and vice versa

if you want the ability to perk someone with 5k evades you should also have the ability to fail to perk someone with 1k evades vs your 3k ar

much needed change. Several classes will need survivability boosts though if it went live.

That's not how AO works. For AO, 1:1 is 75% chance to land.

i didnt whine about them landing the drain..
i commented about how it effectly shuts down any means of actually killing the opponent with just 1 nano.

You whine plenty about things landing through your "4k NR".

After having seen you on the BS, if it's the same Moonbolt, if you have 4k NR, I'll eat my smelly socks.

Well, I've perked NR1 and had OBs to push my NT to that degree of NR and I can tell you, stop acting surprised that things land, it is by no means a stop everything number.

I unperked NR1 again after a random nobody 212 Trader clocked me with GTH on the first attempt. NR is something that's nice to have but isn't a solid defense.

It's like having 3.2k static def with regular hits vs 3-3.1k AR (to compare it to landing NT double/triple or Trader divest).

    yes i know.
im not surprised it landed.. i wasnt even talking about landing chance the post u are mentioning i was talking about that 1 drain with 95% landing chance makes me inable to recast any of my nanos and lowers my AR enough to not be able to perk the trader.
thereof completely a 1 button win for the trader.

this is completly off topic tho.
just saying i wish perks ahd the same mechanic of landing as nukes and regular hits haev instead of being a flat value AR vs Def .
