    Seriously. You yourself admit that there was no indication of what is the intended method and yet so strongly argue that it isn't broken in it's current state. How do you know if there was no indication of its intention? For all you know it is broken in its current state because its intention was to be used from sneak. Hmm, conundrums and contradictions.     It has been mentioned numerous times by Sirillion that it was NOT intended to be used from sneak, and that the current version of the shot IS the intended one. Monique has chosen to ignore these statements but that doesn't mean they haven't been made.

    I would also like to see the perk become useful again (through shortening the execution time) but it's something that belongs in agent wishlist and not spammed in every other thread by a bunch of broken records.

    They are just jealous at my Supernova, 'cos it has only 4 sec execution time and can be executed from sneak.

    However, we will put aside the fact that this one requires to run a chain of 3 perks first, which takes some 10 seconds to execute, plus this 4 seconds at the end.

    Before, you could use it from sneak as an opening attack for a gank..

    That made it useful in ganking situations. But now, you can't open with it from sneak anymore.

    Result is that we have yet another "must be fighting someone" perk with a long attack time.

    In our alpha, there is room for only one perk with a long attack time. Or else, the victim has too much time to react. Heal, hit defense perks/nanos/whatever. You know the drill.

    That perk with a long attack time can be either The Shot, or Called Shot. But only one of them.

    The Shot compared with Called Shot:

    • The Shot has a -500 runspeed/inits debuff. Very uber when trying to kill docs, combined with UBT. Main reason to keep it perked.
    • The Shot has 5s execution time, as opposed to 6s from Called Shot.
    • The Shot has a 120s locktime, as opposed to 90s.
    • The Shot has no DoT effect, Called Shot does.
    • The Shot does not scale up to a higher template when you get more AR, Called Shot does.
    • You need to dump 10 AI perks into Made to get The Shot, which have no other use unless you're evades setup. While you need those 10 regular perks into Infantry anyway, and that line gives hp/rifle too.
    • The Shot has 5m less range than Called Shot.
    • The Shot used to be executable in sneak, popping you out when it went off. So making it an excellent opening attack.


    Anyway, most agents aren't really yearning for a 500 inits debuff, and are not evades setup. So they might as well perk CONC/COHA and get a truly useful addition to their alpha.

    To be honest, The Shot has simply taken the place of Called Shot in my alpha because it debuffs nanoinit and I had it anyway. If I ever move away from evades, I'll reperk to CONC/COHA again instead of COHA/Made. Most of the time I use Called Shot now, is to combined with AS/tranq make a doc freak out ("OMGOMG ALPHA INC") so they use up their healperks.

    No that wasn't what he said. The incorrect flag was discovered after the re-re-re change, not before.

    And as Sil stated, it has very little effect of agent performance as is, so there is little reason to not repair it.

    I fail to see how making this change would further the joy MPs and soldiers experience when PvPing. Therefore, it is obviously irrelevant. You are distracting their attention from designing double-AS Tigresses and a 3 minute AMS, cease it immediately!

    called shot is no substitute for the shot.... it dues a bit more then half of the pvp dmg , compared to the shot.. and at least me, i ended up beeing short exactly that ammount of dmg, to kill a good doc or agent!
    I been fiddeling around a LOT with my ai perks and dmg perks, but atm the shot is something i wont scratch away.

    Does it still land ? Yes. Does it damage and debuff ? Yes. It's working fine. You lost a 5k damage out of nowhere perk ? Tough luck, no one else ever had it. Live without it, everyone else does.

    8k pvm max --> 4k pvp max --> 2.8k pvp max after applying rrfe.

    6.5k pvm min --> 3.25k pvp min --> 2275 pvp min after applying rrfe.

    Not even close to "5k damage out of nowhere". But good exaggeration.

    Stupid statement you made there. Why don't we remove fixer evade perks, agents don't have it, live without it, all the agents do.

    noone else expet agents is ment to be an assasin as well... tough luck eh?

    (i dont count shdes here as they are melee and got a working perk template as it is)

    Assasins do shoot from the dark, fast hard and deadly.. live with it!

    Don't lecture me on assassins in other games agent in AO doesn't come close to assassin classes in other mmorpgs.

    If they're among the best healers in a game and decent damage dealers, they're not assassins, they're hybrids.

    Shades are a good example of an assassin class. Agents ? Naw, just because you have lots of concealment that doesn't make you assassins.

    among best healers in game? c´mon , you can do better then that paf.... it needs more then a heal ot make up for survivablity, and we both know that btw... reading thru your lines shows, that you also think we dont have enough dmg to be assasins.. great, we both agree on some point^^
