Pet level per breed at 100?

I'm playing a solitus crat atm and rather like it. I had played a nano crat and I notice that I'm already at least one pet behind the nano crat. I'm not going to switch because a solitus just fits my idea of a leader/controler type. But I'd like an idea of how far behind the nanomage crats I'll be at say lvl 100ish.

I see no reason why you'd be a pet behind at your level unless you spent IP differently (which is understandable for Abilitities)

The 'big' difference will come when you hit your Ability cap:

    Intelligence Cap

    NanoMage: 512
    Solitus: 480

That's 32 extra Intelligence points a NanoMage can get. I think for 10 intelligence you'll get 2.5 'free' skill points in a 100% based skill. So _if_ the T&S/MC skills were 100% INT based you'd 'lose' out on 32*2.5/10 = 8 skill points. But, they're only 80% INT based so it's actually 6.4 (probably 6) points in your attack pet nano skills. And this is at HIGH levels where you start maxing abilities like STR, STA, INT, PSY, etc.

Your INT as a Solitus may cost more than a NanoMage but both of them can only raise it 3 per level. There should be no difference in pet at any level below let's say 130. At that point you are almost creating the best pets no matter what so it's a moot point.

Assuming the same skills, implants, and gear, the Atrox 'crat at 100 is making the same Limited Aide Droid (or whatever) as the NanoMage at 100. The _only_ difference is how big a nanobot pool the different breeds will have and how many hitpoints.

Nanomage, Solitus, Atrox all play differently based on Armor, Hitpoints, and Nanopool. The IP squeeze hits the Atrox as well when they try to be a 'caster'. My Atrox MP (combination chosen as a challenge, little did I know) for example has NO points into such basics as First Aid, Runspeed, Map Navigation, and the like. More sacrifice necessary at the lower levels. Nanomage MP might have some left over owing to the green 'caster' abilities like Int and Psy.

    There is a difference

Not everyone has it but...Suppose you add in the Nano-mage only items (I have them) I know there rare but add +30 int/Psy from Shades of lubrication and your 32 points become 62 points...

Not huge difference but a difference none the less...And If you think about it there has definately been times where you couldn't cast a pet by 1pt let alone 8-10............

Anyway not a huge difference but there is one...and by the way at QL 190+ missions (which is basically the whole high end game) 300 mor hit points isn't even one hit from an ace...so theres no advantage there at all imo

    Yup

I think for a 'crat, It just doesn't matter much one way or another what breed you pick. Same for most pet classes. FunCom seems to be differentiating the breeds a bit through items which I can endorse.

The Nanomage if he has connections or enough money to spend on eBay can get a better pet. The Atrox can use Tank Armor and Da Taunter!! to take maybe an extra shot and get agro back on the droid if needed.

I really despise 'best' character combinations and skill sets. Likewise I despise even more the DAoC mode of nothing mattering at all how you lay out your character. In AO you CAN totally bork your character. That's cool.

There's also nine ways to Sunday to play many of the professions. That's even cooler.

None in his right mind would use this piece of crap, unless he wants to attend social events with it. Then maybe you were thinking of Support Beam, but I was convinced that melee weapons were a no-no for people that can root.

Gummi, picture this. A beam wielding, battle suited atrox doctor. Would you want to put your life in his hands when a big mean red mob runs up to you?

I really gotta scratch my head at some of these character combinations. A beam wielding atrox trader with tank armor.

    My Trader

Is an Atrox with a Vektor LIZARD to help with that nice psychic boost. Gets me on par with a solitis. It is nice to have all those HP's though, I can heal my team as well as any doc and still have enough HP to take a shot or 10 to some red mobs. =)

    Beam Doc'

Perhaps his goal in life is not to heal YOU? Perhaps he is a sick in the head violent bastard who wants to create death at every turn?

A mad scientist who is full of fury over how he was created by lab technicians and outfitted with reproductive parts that while making the ladies happy don't fulfill their true purpose of reproduction and creation of a legacy.

He has decided to turn biology against those who created him and as such has studied pharmacology and the medical uses of nanotechnology. He's well suited to poisoning his prey and healing himself. He uses the freakish strength provided him as a result of his unfortunate scientifically planned genesis to wield a simple and powerful symbol of destruction: an actual piece of the destroyed laboratory that was his 'parents' workplace.

This character makes complete sense to me. Maybe you don't want him healing you in battle? Maybe he doesn't want to heal you in battle. That's what the big-boobed solitus nurses named LoveyHands who hang out in the back are for.

At any rate the game mechanism is making Atrox with beams very solid character. HPs Are very very important in the game, more than nanos.
I am just discarding the Tank armor, that will bring a marginal AC gain and shut down your nano skill. There's really no reason to have this stuff on, and you are talking to someone that had to drop tank for a lame Decus coat, to be able to Mongo.

It's a nano line for the enforcers that allow them to aggro all the mobs around on them while having a heal over time. It's very powerful because it's a very efficient way for Enforcers to do their job : tanking.

A few months ago all Enforcers were wearing something called Tank Armor that provides good AC with penalties in run speed, evades and nano skill. In fact the nano pool while wearing a Tank was supposed to be halved. It wasn't really (let's not dive further in the details) and FC fixed this. Then the same Enforcers had to realize that Tank Armor was a sucky piece of *** and started to raise their Agility to equip Decus Coats that are as good as Tank Armors, without *any* sort of penalty.

    Hope that helps.
