Something su****ious is afoot indeed. Last night Kemlyan was taken hostage by various high-ranking Omni-Pol members accompanied by these Unicorn troops. The Unicorn troops themselves are massive and fearsome, making me gulp more than once as I wondered if they might perma-fry me.
A number of us clanners showed up to try and protect Kemlyan in ICC, but being a man of words and not action, Kemlyan cowered under the intimidating Unicorn troops and went with them. We swore we would fight to protect his freedom and quest to report truth; but we would not force him to remain free--for really is that freedom at all? He seemed disheartened and believed it was his only choice to go with them. Sadly, he might have been right.
Some of us followed him into Omni Trade, but when we arrived he was nowhere in sight. As I listened to the familiar warnings of the guards -- "Woolgatherer, you should not have come here." -- I thought to myself, Why should you have come here . Not just to Omni Trade, last night, but to the vaguer, more general, here .
I recalled the events of the day, how we had lost important land control areas in Mort. Two large sites, owned by powerful clans, fallen to hordes upon hordes of omnis. And it pains me to think much of this was due to lies of dissent and disunity among us. These lies and rumours are self-fulfilling prophecies. If we listen to them, we allow them to become true. If, for but one moment, we doubt the loyalties of a fellow clanner, we are no better than Kemlyan throwing away our freedoms, tucking tail, and allowing omni to escort us back to our shackles in the mines.
Just as we told Kemlyan last night, we will not force anyone to be free. If the time has at last come when clanners want to give into the lies and deceit of omni propagandha, I won't hold you back. I won't stoop to the level of my enemies and force decisions upon you. But...if you still want to be free, if you want to fight for the freedom and privileges you enjoy as such, CLAN will be there for you, and CLAN will fight for you. And if you doubt that, or if you wouldn't do the same, omni has already won.
