How does AO keep your interest?

I am curious as to what keeps all of you in game, especially you 1+year people. I have played other MMO games, some up to 3+yrs time, others at about 2+yrs. These other games had a high end game though. EQ had the raiding and Uber Loot(tm), UO has such a diverse end game that its impossible to label any one thing.

My question is was keeps you playing Anarchy Online? Friends? Org? The desire to increase your capacity? Pvp? What has kept your interest for so long?

For me, it is mostly the the friends and org, then second comes capacity. I desire nothing more then the best for my charecter, as that is my inherent nature. I also seek the best for my friends as well :P

So I leave you with this question, dont get to deep into it 8P Im just wondering what makes it "fun" for you all.

The addicting nature of it and the hope to meet new friends and aquire new uber loot I guess. When you take a step back and look at it, its actually pretty sad...

A few things keep me here, the most important is I still find playing the game fun. The second I stop finding it fun, i will leave the game. Other things that keep me here are my friends in game, and sheer bloody mindedness (I AM going to get lilnymph to level 200 if it kills me

I've been thinking about why I'm still in AO and why I'm still having fun - especially when I tried the demo of EnB and was about to leave for it. I began 2 weeks after the US-release when it came to Sweden, and I played Beta4 *shiver, shake*.

I'm still having fun in AO because of the great people in my guild, the wonderful persons I've met in this game, the one I've gotten to know through AO and become friends with outside of AO. I've never played to have the best loot or be the highest leveller or the fastest runner or the best PvPer, infact I hate PvP but I do it if I have to, to help my guild or Omni - I suck at it and is easy prey and usually stop after a few deaths. I play to meet people, to help others, to chat and to do some minor roleplaying. To have fun, in my sense of the word.

Recently I began exploring AO - I realized I had never been to DAV and really got a look at the place, nor Avalon, nor the northern zones - except for going on raids. I've been Omni from the start, with one exception - Diamondroad, who went Omni after 7 whole levels, and I still can't find my way around Omni1 Ent

I think the clanside is an experience I won't stay long enough to see - I prefer the hightech cities of Omni.

I've lost count of how many chars I've made, but a few months ago I counted the levels of them all in the javachat and came up with just over 1000 levels combined.

I spent 4 years in UO, 3 of them with the same character, I think I went through every profession-template with him, mage, swordsman, archer, woodchuck, fisherman, bard - but I settled on armor and weapons-smith, and didn't leave Britain for months in a row, and still had the same amount of fun. Because I felt I could help others best as one. Repairs, making armor and weapons - and Grandmaster made items.. *my* name of a weapon someone used! WOW! Making money was fun too, I was so happy when I had over 80K gold as I had to make a new stack of gold in the bank =) Anyways, I always longed for a futuristic MMORPG, and that's why I left UO.

Theres my rant, I'm still having fun in AO and I don't foresee myself leaving anytime soon.

Well there is the stubborness, the people, the stubborness, the fixer community (atleast the one on Rimor, a more insane bunch of loons are hard to find) and did I mention stubborness.

But then again, it didnt....

Hm more seriously - mainly RPing and friends. Not uber loot or whatever, I don't mission very often anyways (although the world is coming to an end: Lil, can you believe that I took 3 FRIGGIN' LEVELS in ONE WEEK?

)

So well, yeah... guildmates, friends, meeting new people, a part of exploring the world too (very nice and interesting places around, when one look at it closer), RP events... As long as I still find fun in it, I stay ^_^

Are you saying there is no high end game in AO? If so, maybe you need a new guild.

Nah fixerben im just saying I dont quite see it. I really dont know what it is, but it would seem that there are some uber mobs to kill, but only a few of them. If you can enlighten me , please do so :P

Lil, I have caught up to you in lvl! I am lvl 113 now :P Ill be 120 by this sunday hehe.....Some would say im a powerleveler...well ok maybe :P Thats not as good as the day I got 101 - 110 in one day :P Gotta love it when 2 and a half feet of snow keeps ya locked in your house ^^
