As for the selfish remark. When you aproach a group like that, ask in vicinty. When you send a tell, do its very likely that the person is too busy to reply, just forgets it, have tons of spam and misses the tell (org chat, private chat, shopping etc...). Ever considered that the answer you got was a misstell?
