The easiest way to do alink in these forums is to use the nifty "http://" button just above the reply box.

Click the 'user cp' button at the top of your screen. Go to 'edit options'. Near the bottom of the screen, just above your avatar, there's the option to 'use vBCode quick links on your message input screens'. Set this to 'yes' and you'll have a bunch of extra options available when you post.
Oh, and by the way: your hyperlink still doesn't work. There's an '=' in front of it and the link itself isn't correct either. There's a piece in the middle that's replaced with '...'.

Remove the "/" in front of "thread". Should fix your link.
