Maybe the non-functioning link to dirtect download of 18.1.1 large version is because there's a newer version available? My previously downloaded full large client download is version 18.4.7. Modifying the above download link to version 18.4.7 did not work either.

I came looking for a newer full direct download, if it exist.

I've recently added a link for the New client as well as the New Client Patches, it might be worth trying that instead.

I can not patch "old client" got some weird bug saying that normalmap.txt was missing.
I did managed to patch new client but as it is still in beta it crashes way to often....
Please fix patcher for old client.

The only thing that works for me, when patching fails, is to start over with a clean install from 18.8.0, and patch everything from that point up. It might not work for you, but it has "solved" the issue more than once for me, at least.

Yeah, that usually works. Making sure you clean out the failed download before starting another also helps. I typically have more success patching the new engine, so sometimes I'll switch to that. 6G/s download with other programs, 1k/s with AO patch...

I'd love to know what the problem is. The old engine patched fine for me on Thursday...but for a bit it looked like it was going to fail, I was just about to end task it but my buddy called and it finished in the blink of an eye-- 21 min eta to done...and AO is working fine.

Now I'm trying to do the new engine and it's at 21 min right now and climbing. Started it about 4 min ago. I just got a new vid card (a 960) and want to see how it handles the new engine. My old card--a 660-- would slide show in ICC and Bor. Fine most other places.

Yep, just dl'edFrom the Depths thru Steam-- 978mb 2 min or so, 1 gb dl from Defiance 4min, Same for TERA, WoT, GW2 updates.

Current eta is 35...er, 43 minutes and rising... Rage Quit (now with New Improved Account Cancelling) is imminent

UPDATE: stopping & restarting patch a couple times kicked the ftp sever in the teeth and woke it up. so yay. Wish it would work on Test Live server but never does.
