    I remember the first time I saw that random room in an RK mish; I was astonished. It's so much better than the current creator, which strikes me as being more suited to a character selection screen than anything else.

    also /bump (haven't bumped it in a year or so)

    I fell in love with AO when it had the starting hall, I remember rerolling 10 levels higher each time as a nooby froob with 15k to spare and applying each time what new stuff you had learnt. ah, the simple old good times.

    Its possible to see the old character creation room by simple luck - its included as a random module in RK research facility missions. Its not possible to enter the room but it can be viewed from behind the glass wall.

    A lot of games have a tutorial area that you have to go through on your first character but can then choose to skip afterwards. How about even if FC dont want to bring back the arrival hall as it was that they provide something that gives some info on the different factions and explains the shuttle crash before dumping the player on the beach that after you've been through once you can choose to skip but can also reactivate again if desired.

    Also old character creator ftw (I like that RK mish room).

    Also... arrival hall was nice. And even today I really love the atmosphere of the former neutral backyards with all the robots and such things. It has a very sci-fiesque flair. In fact, I tried the game back when the german server started and was so amazed that I subscribed within 10 minutes of the 7 day trial there was.
