Thanks for not telling the *whole* story, now folks will still ask what it stands for. The faithful shall never reveal...!

Oh, and I guess I should add that 'Measles' is so named because he is my lvl1 pvp twink, a doc who can self the Expertises.

Mireiawen... Its not the first variation of the name, but the one that stuck most. Maybe because I ended up having fixer as main after adventurer, or maybe she ended up as my main because of the name.

The name started from combining word mithril, which is strong but light metal in many fantasy settings, with the wen to make it sound more elven. Mithrilwen didn't sound good so I played some with name generator and stuff, and the first used name ended up as Miriawen. That evolved into Mireiawen when I rolled my fixer.

I got plenty of alts with the same naming style, Mir + vocals + wen, so people started to joke with Mireieaieaieiaeiaeiewen style, so I made my enforcer as Mireiaieawen =p Just to note, there's no 2 of same vocal next to each other in those names I have.

Over the time, the name has taken its place in elsewhere as well...

Did you know that when people are bit by a dog or maybe even just coughed at by a large dog with a severe cold they might develop a life long fear of dogs?
This is the root of my deliciously dorky war-name first used for my Disciple of Khaine in that warhammer mmo whut went to the final AFK a few months ago.
I just love the absurd contrast between the somewhat naive and entirely too cerebral vs. being a priestess dedicated to the god of merciless slaughter and wrath ( and no ice-cream).

edit: hmm, why does posting in this thread at this time remind me so much of that artsy thing Stoya did for Clayton Cubitt?

I needed an artist name back in 1997, with a slight relation to my first name.
Ancestors could hear what is happening now
They would turn in their graves
they would all be ashamed - that the land of the free
    has been written in chains
And I know what I want - when the timing is right
then I'll take what is mine
    I am the clansman

Most of my character names don't really have a determinable origin that I can recall.

The fixer, I am a pretty big Hitch Hiker's Guide fan. And in one of the books, Ford and Trillian have a daughter name Random Frequent Flyer Dent. The irony(that I saw) in an Opifex Maile with a Time distorted female name was too good to pass up.

My Keeper(Fiveof9), was a "Star Trek name" though I remembered it wrong and it stuck.
The Crat's(Fiddlybit) name came after an Engi I made who's name was a bit of word play.
And the MA(Wuntaim) was just funny to hear Jackie Chan say "One Time!!" when doing a Kata.
Freqflyerdnt (Fix) - Codney (MP) - Fiddlybit (Crat) - Breaker117 (Enfo) - Spasticdent (NT) - Fiveof9 (Keeper) - Maleshai (Advy) - Tacitblue (Shade)

Number 1 toon got his name from an ancient greek god, mythical ancestor of my nation.
Number 2 toon has a name suitable for roleplaying porn actresses.
Number 3 toon uses very big knives, instruments best used in the food processing industry.
Number 4 has a suitable name for a fixer, in my native language.
Number 5 is an advy. Advies, Funcom, etc.
Number 6 is an MA, she is named for what pretty deadly girls should be.
Number 7 is a trader, a poor one.
Number 8 is a Crat, crats are special.
Number 9 is for teh lolz, many many lolz.
Number 10 has a nice butt.
Number 11 is an atrox enforcer. Everybody knows atrox enforcers dont die.
Number 12 is a female engineer. Engineers use screwdrivers.
Number 13 is an advy with red hair.
Number 14 might someday be a lowby PvP twink. He has an offensive name, hate tells not needed.
Number 15 was named after I read a post about Enfos being the nerfest profession.
Number 16 is a male engy, named after a specially obnoxious poster on a famous bulletin board.
Number 17 is an asian doc who cannot find teams to level with. Very appropriate nowadays.
Number 18 is a name placeholder, with the name spelled backwards. Or is it?
Number 19 has a funny name. No relation to anything.

I seem to remember that Gimpynoob was Hera's somewhat inebriated cousin-twice removed, is that right? He was the lord of "But it *looks* cool dammit!" but also held dominion over a vast variety of neck-ties.

Thapetowner was created by a 12-year old me who wanted to be cool and bring out the gangster in my by using 'Tha' instead of 'The', the rest is quite obvious.. (He's an mp)

The inebriated and twice removed part sounds about right. But he was not a cousin, closer to a hated stepson. But then, who was not hated by Hera?

An eccentric hermit inventor engineer of ancient German descent.

Rolled a crat, and after looking at my dinner plate, Sauerkrat was the only possible name. Since then I've just kept it Sauer with Sauerkream, Sauerpill, Sauerdrains, Sauerstreak,,many others, and one break, an evil twin to Sauerkrat, Kratwurst.

My forum nick is a relic of my early AO days when I misspelled some weather phenomena, Jorricane, Jornado, etc. They have since been Sauer'd as well.

    What's your story?
The sounds I make in the morning after brushing my teeth. I also want to point out that my moustache in my avatar should be referred to as a lip-ferret.
