The Leet 1.1.1 released

1.1.0 contained tower war notifications but I screwed it up

Blaming the baby. You can't be mad at a baby right?

* Tower wars notifications. Go to Settings and click 'Monitor sites', you will need to create an account (I don't take any responsibility for the security of this feature so use an e-mail / password combination you don't use on other accounts).
* Redesign (Better? I think so at least)
* Tablet optimizations, will make more in the future
* Probably other stuff I dont remember

Sounds like a great app. Ive got no knowledge of any of these things but would such a thing be possible to port to windows phone?
Been following this thread for a bit to see if anything like this would come up but so far havent...

I don't think it would be easy to port over. Droid is Java based and Windows Phone is C#.net.
The libraries that he uses would have to ported first and the entire user interface has to be remade from scratch.
The plus side is Windows Phone is much easier to develop on than either Android or iPhone.
So if he is feeling ambitious it would be possible, but a lot of work...

If you port the entire thing to phonegap you rid yourself of such bleh. If you know your way around HTML5 you can do ... pretty much anything native apps do.

Using Phonegap could be possible, but I believe it would have a huge negative impact on performance. And writing code for communication with the chat servers and all other features in javascript wouldn't be fun

Why would it have a negative impact on performance? O.o we use it here at work, for something that could be called similar to The Leet in functionality, data-back-forth between server, synching with updates and notifications, loading and managing lists etc.

Course, you're right in the problematic issue of having to port the chat libraries, forgot about those

Those projects I've been involved in where html5 was used for the UI never felt as responsive as native solutions. At least not on slower phones. But I can't say for sure it wasn't because of bad code.

A new version will be released shortly after the server is up.
It's done but i want to test it before release.

Only Android 2.1 and above will be supported. The old version that is available to Android 1.6 to 2.0 will not be updated.

The new version of The Leet crashes immediately every time I try to start it. (Error message: "The application The Leet has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.") Previous versions worked fine for me. I am running Android 2.3.4 on an HTC Droid Incredible; is my phone too old for the new version?

Sorry for that, some "under development" code got left active in the release.
An update is uploaded and should be available soon.

Also: one thing I'd like to be able to do is copy text (in addition to the options for sending a tell to player, msg to channel, or whois the player.) Any chance of this in a future version?

Not sure if its been brought up but changing the text colors for chat doesn't work. It just stays the default color.

Hi,

I used the app to chat on my way home, lost network when it reconnected to my wifi. When I arrived, I logged in game on my PC, the phone got the network back, then the app tried to connect in a crazy loop that spammed my org chat for a good 5 minutes and it didn't stop after I shut down my phone in panic because it queued all of the retries.

Is there a reloging retry limit I can set? It was a pretty evil experience.

*Option to copy message text (will strip html).
*Will now make a maximum of 5 reconnect attempts before giving up
*Color settings should be fixed
