Notch twitted that armor is still broken. Th emergency patch yesterday broke it. So from his twitter it may be a day or two till armor works again.

You can knock the fire balls from Ghast away with any equipped item.
Stone Picks will mine the blocks in the Nether.
Right now iron is very easy to find in new worlds or new chunks in an existing world and Notch considers it a bug.
You need much much more light at layers 1 to 16 to prevent mob spawning now. Right now my experiments resulted in 1 torch every fourth block distance being needed on level 11/12. That is a lot of light.
The update this morning 31 October fixed the lost inventory on death bug.
The 0.00 MB save files that people are seeing after going to the Nether are playable and not reason to panic. But backing up your world is still smart.

For those players that have not done it. Build a fortress around your gate in the nether and light it well. It makes the entry into the Nether so much safer.

With added help we could pretty much make a proper version, with whompahs that then lead to newland etc. Would be awesome

Was building an awesome Atlantis on Kintaiis server, then I crashed and whenever I try to join I get:

Slightly OT but I'd be interested in helping* build a few landmarks from SL - say the bridge in Halls of Scheol, Jumpoff in Inferno, or either temple in Penumbra. Biomes could be Pen-friendly....

*helping = show up sometimes and loiter, mostly.

Never said I or anyone else would recreate Shadowlands.
Nor would I want to recreate Inferno.

Just saying the "hell" zone in Minecraft reminds me of Inferno because of all the lava and fire and such.

reids: I've had some issues similar to that with Minecraft crashing - Try clearing out your Java cache and see if that helps. It's not a catch-all solution but it helped a lot with some of my issues. Quick walkthrough if you're using Windows:

Open the Run dialog and type in: javaws -viewer
Once this is open, click "Settings" under "Temporary Internet Files"
Then click the "Delete Files" button and afterwards "OK" on the next popup box.

No luck sadly! Can't think of anything to do, I deleted all my minecraft files (backed up the saves of course) and re-installed, asked on their IRC (was on there for 3 hours with no answer), asked on the forums (no answer) and now your steps. Can't think what else to try

It seems to be with Kintaiis server, I can join other SMP games no problem...

Can you still play single player? Or does it only b0rk up when you try to connect to the server? You might also wanna try connecting to another server and seeing if it's *my* server that's messing you up, or something with your client - If you can connect to other servers, then there might be a couple more things that I can try.

Yeah, single player and other servers seem to work fine. Just yours!

Dumb as it may sound, if you're copy/pasting the server address into the input box, make *sure* that you're not copying any blank spaces after the address - Blank spaces in the input box make the client cry. Try typing it in manually. If that doesn't work... I got nothin'. ><

I whipped out my legoes to do mock builds of what I will make in MC. It has made me want to make a scene from Star wars.

Some x-wings, tie-fighters, and ofc the death star is a must.
