Friday with Means - January 8th, 2010 - Who took my stuff!

I have now had a migraine headache for a week. I find very little amusing at the moment...but I am trying. With everything that has been happening in the community in the last week or so I think it is very important that I cover this issue.

DO NOT SHARE YOUR ACCOUNTS.

No matter how much you feel you "trust" your friends in-game...or how long you have known each other for...or how certain you are that they would never strip-sell your characters and IP you into swimming...This will happen to you if you give people the chance. Maybe not today...maybe not tomorrow...but it will happen. Your real friends don't need your account information. You wouldn't give them access to your bank accounts...this shouldn't be different.

This happens all the time. Do not make yourself a victim.

We will not be spending 100's of customer service hours helping people clean up problems of their own creation. People who have been legitimately "hacked" will receive some understanding and help. People who are hacked AGAIN will not. Repeatedly visiting sites that serve "the dark side" carry a risk...keep this in mind...you won't like what you lose.

Enough of this happened over the last few weeks that this has been my primary focus this week. It would have been much more interesting to cover some of the things that were delayed this week..but here we are.

Account sharing aside, AO's security measures are somewhat dated, having on-screen utility to input passwords would be nice for a start.

Plus it would be nice 90% (yes i completely made that number up, please dont punish me with spider army) of activity ingame wouldnt depend on at least one person in a group dual-logging.
