Thread: Annoying small things everyone knows about yet have not been fixed

    - Bugged rk mission entrances. I'm sure you're familiar with those. You spend 1k clicks looking for something in clicksaver, and when you get to the mission entrance the door is not there. I know of some in bf and milky way, but I'm sure there's more

    - Inability to cancel nanos from pets ncu. Annoys me pretty often since I rename my pets the same as my chars. A moments inattention and the pets ncu gets filled with buffs that were supposed to be for me and I have to terminate/recast the pet since they can't be canceled...

    - Camera getting stuck in geometry. Happens to me quite a bit especially in bs. The camera gets stuck overhead and I have to zone or go back to the spot where it happened to try to get it working normally.

    - "Target out of range" when trying to use specials with a ranged weapon even if you're standing right next to your target. Pressing q before firing specials fixes this, but it's still annoying

    - Zone border between Galway Shire and Galway County is broken since around 2002...

    - Penumbra Dyna Malah-Eadem still doesn't have a valid path to be reached, and pulling via /pet hunt is annoying as it only works very rarely

    - Nanos being re-casted on login has annoying side effects. Log out in NLC or Bore with Mongo still in your NCU, and you will most surely login with a nice PvP flag as the area taunt is recasted on login and has hit some city guard.

    - Ancient Container giving the "cannot nest containers" error although it's not usable as a backpack and thus should be flagged as a regular back item

    - unevenly distributed PB pattern fragment drop rates - how hard can it be to set them all at 25%? I've got some PBs where e.g. the Chi pattern is at 1:20 to the others..

    - unfair/broken droprates of SL crafting rings and weapon guide HUD items: the clan versions of the rings and weapon guides in the Omni temples drop in almost every kills, the omni versions take days or weeks of farming. The ranged weapon guides are unnecessarily rare, they're not that uber to be so rare. Also these items would go better without their Unique flag.. unless you expect people to carry a backpack of those around just to be able to delete the lower version when finding a higher one.

    - HUD/util items are not equippable from a backpack... which is rather annoying for my engi when needing to use things like the Ancient skills library or Funneling helpers, or swapping garden key before activating the recall beacon

    - Broken Loot windows - since somewhen in 18.x loot windows tend to close when you right-click an item to delete.. very annoying imho.

    About unnecessary uniques/nodrops: Can you please remove the unique and nodrop flags from the SL Sanguisugent and Pernicious armors, as well as the Nonpartisan Body and Sworn/Conscientous Knights cloak? Especially for the latter two, I've never seen the point in having one part of a full set as nodrop.

    About the Finely Refined Notum - I wonder who actually came up with the Unique idea.. considering that you need ten of those for a full armor set. What were they thinking of? Farm one, have one armor part crafted, farm another one, search for a tradeskiller again... WTF?!

    (and can we please have the Hiisi warriors drop their armor? I so want a set of these.. )

    - Regarding the 'four-stairset' room in SL missions - you can jump through the ceiling by accident - I'm sure we've all experienced it, it's not an uncommon mistake to make.

    - If you alt+tab out while logging in (fullscreen mode), when you alt+tab back into AO everything is covered with a blue mist that makes the game unplayable. You have to *gasp* wait for the game to load before you can (for example) log in an alt.

    - If you're in nano recharge when you come out of decon room (and probably any teleportation effect that doesn't result in a hard zone, i.e. boss warps), all the nanos in your nano program window will be toggled in reverse (grayed-out when they are available, non-grayed when they are in recharge). This can be fixed manually by opening and closing your nano program window.

    - Your NCU window gets jumbled every time you zone, but other windows remember the sorting preference that you set.

    - "Medium" and "Hard" solo Inferno missions are unavailable. No matter what you say to the NPC, you will always get an "Easy".

    - If you pull a mission in Omni HQ, which has a 25% gas area outside, some of 25% gas rules will still apply inside the mission, which is a 75% gas area. For example, you cannot heal a teammate outside of your PvP range, even though neither toon is flagged and the area is 75% gas. This may be the case in other 25% gas areas, but I have not tested.

    - If you try to loot certain mobs too soon, while they are still in the death animation, you will open a trade window instead.

    - Some mob types, like medusas, sand demons and cyborgs, will taunt you if you try to loot them during the death animation, which is kind of funny so maybe you don't need to fix that :P

    Guys please remember this is a thread about bugs, not gameplay you just doesn't like.

    Anyways havent seen anyone mention the bug you get every single time you exit a playershop. You get sorta stuck in the door, so the first time you try to move you get warped back to the door.

    It would be helpfull help if you have some coordinates for those bugged mission entrances.

    Well... If you look at the coil it does in fact state "Modifier: Nanopoints +84" which leads me to believe that it is intended that the nano-hot in question is supposed to be 84 per tick. Even if the value is supposed to apparently increase over time, it would seem as if it should increase from 84, not 42. But I guess the designers are to say about that.

    I'll compile a lot of the things mentioned here to the original posts when I have a bit more time. Some of the mentioned things are a bit questionable - e.g. are grafts supposed to check NR? Not being able to right-click remove pet nanos seems like a feature too, as well as treatment kits locking treatment of the patient, and meching up in grace - while others are plainly and clearly errors.

    The ordering of NCUs in the NCU window gets jumbled every time you zone. To get it back to the intended ordering you have to close the window and open it again.

    Pets dont do sided damage against towers. If you kill at CT with pets, your org does not get the victory.

    Ye, like I said in my post, I don't know if they're really classified as a "bug", but the title of this this thread says it's about annoying things. I personally think it's annoying as f*** that a graft containing mere QL12 nano is able to root somebody no matter how much nanoresist he has. Especially since everybody seems to carry 2 of these bastards, together with a blind ring. And others being able to mess with your skill lock recharge via nanokits just seems really weird to me as well. What if you stim people with QL1 kits to stop them from using their QL200 ones? Being able to mech up in grace is just really gay and frustrating... multibillion twinks being taken out by a carbsquad, just wtf >< It has already be discussed (and ignored) several times before, e.g. here and here. It's really easy to fix, just open to gas when you start building a turret :S

    Another one I'm not too sure if is a bug or just me:

    If you cast a friendly nano (i.e. Heal/Buff) and follow it directly with a hostile nano (DoT/Nuke/Debuff), there is no nano cast/recharge bar or animation shown for the second cast. This only seems to happen when I am spamming hotkeys to get stuff cast.

    Kind of related bug - try zoning out of the western exit of Omni-1 Trade. It sticks you inside a wall. Zoning back is bugged, too - only about half of the doorway (southern half) is passable.

    Also, when traveling down the causeway to reach the Heckler dynas in Scheol, there are one or two spots where the path seems to dip below the zoning boundary. As well, there seems to be a bug I've seen once or twice with higher-than-average latencies where if you run too fast you'll literally be spat through the bottom of it. Hopefully reducing runspeed will stop that one.

    Zoning in temples is bugged too - they're laid out internally in different directions than their entrances would make you think, and they don't set your character facing 'forward' when you zone into or out of them.

    Prophet Abad Mord. For everyone who hasn't heard of him, he's an Unredeemed NPC that technically doesn't exist, but should. Clan folks have a quest NPC which they can trade Chosen insignias to in exchange for Faithful insignias. Mord was supposed to be the opposite, but for some unknown reason never made it ingame, leaving Omni players who want Tier 3 armor the options of either buying an insignia, borrowing one or losing faction.

    Another intriguing bug happens sometimes if you're trying to IP skills and pass through a zone border. Usually it requires closing and reopening the skill window and starting over again to fix.

    Things that shouldn't be unique:
    -Subdued Flow of Novictum. Just really really annoying, as anyone who's ever lost one in their bank will tell you.
    -Cloaking device. Never really been a good explanation for why this is unique in the first place.
    -The Extruder. Can you imagine how OP'd it'd be to have two of those?
    -SL environmental damage gear. Now that the problem of trying to equip two HHABs has been solved, do we really need to complicate the buying/selling/transfer of this stuff as much as it is currently? This goes for the items required to make them, as well.

    Really, I'm in favor of making most items that are unique non-unique unless they have a decent reason to be. For example, DB armor, excepting sleeves, has a good enough reason to be - you don't need more than one. Likewise, having more than one Briefcase of Holding might break the game in new and interesting ways, so I can see the logic there. A lot of items though, like those aforementioned, just don't need to be unique.

    = Using the eastern insurance terminal at West Athens and then dying will re-spawn players in a netherworld zone in Athen Shire. Players must zone twice to return to West Athens.

    = Visual bugs associated with shops and trading items - after a trade players must zone to see items in inventory.

    = Backyard zoning bug " retreat and try again". This feature has been around since beta. Traders are very familiar with this.

    = Player must have 1000 credits to leave a backyard.

    Note: Someone mentioned un-equipping IQ rings directly to backpacks. This was an old exploit trap from when IQ rings were un-equippable.

    - Countdown text on hotbar nanos going down to zero, but leaving you still unable to cast the nano (seems to happen with iCH lockout in particular). Jumping usually (though not always) fixes the problem, but shouldn't be the solution imo. :\

    - Zoning into the Omni Scheol Sanctuary gives you a message like "Entering garden_of_unredeemed_2" (can't remember it off the top of my head). Not really a bug, but just seems a bit unfinished. :P

    - Minimap looks completely blank aboard alien city raid ships. Map upgrades like people or mobs etc will show up, but the actual landscape looks black so you can't tell where corridors are or anything.

    Please please please fix that laggy hole in the geometry at the start of the bridge from Pen fort into the Hollows. I've just got stuck in it AGAIN and can't sit to /stuck, so I've got to relog.

    Actually, improve /stuck full stop. Although it'd be better if we didn't have to use it at all :P

    EDIT: And why do Composite Expertises require a target, but regular ones will automatically cast on yourself if you don't have one?? And Nano Feast.

    EDIT EDIT: Just found another one in the Pen Unredeemed Ice castle thing. 3348.7 x 1651.3. And when I did ./stuck from there, it warped me to near the Eastern Incarnator! Wtf?!

    Maybe doesn't belong here, but hell, you know what annoys me the most?

    Scheol and Adonis.

    Scheol, the let's-farm-an-insig-and-go-to-Halls-of-Scheol-OK-bye playfield. Quite a beautiful place too... too bad no one goes there. The quest? Hmm, the quest. Quest of pain. Do you like conveyor belts, toy trains, and the mail delivery service? Welcome to Scheol! And I hope you have a TL7 friend or an escort service for that Adonis quest, because whoever designed that quest to require more than one TL5 to get a level-from-132 brain symbiant is out of their mind.

    What gets me most, though, is the geometry issues EVERYFRIKKINWHERE in Adonis. Sweet monkey Jesus... you've got all these really bizarre hills, dropoffs, the weird-ass waterfall leading into the NW section of the playfield, oddly-located bridges, invisible walls, geometrically retarded crevices you have to F4-out to escape from, THE BLASTED WATER, ... eeeeerrrrrrrgh I HATE ADONIS

    Anyway. Oh also.
    Scheol and Adonis spirits can die. They can die horribly.

    If you don't have TMS or cocoon and high runspeed, have fun getting from Scheol to Adonis. 10-20 spirits that'll be more than happy to attack you on sight, poke you with ranged attacks, then launch a 245-point DOT that also saps your nanopool.

    And Adonis abyss? RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE

    OK, seriously, I love the idea of an "underwater world". Pretty darn cool. But, um, yea, would it be nice if it didn't take over 9000 years to get from point A to point B down there, while trying to avoid the stupid spiders and eremites there? Maybe reduce or eliminate the RS debuff while wearing the suit? And the lovely "Disgusting Parasites" that seem to love camping themselves out at the Ado Abyss portals scattered around the area... those are tons of fun, when your RS is cut to a third and they're chewing your ass for 500-1000 points of damage each hit.

    And don't get me started on Penumbra after exiting Ado... running up the hill in joyful celebration... then missing by 10 pixels, woops you fell off, try again!
