Thread: Benchmark mob.

  1. #1

    Benchmark mob.

I'd like to see a benchmark mob.

Doesn't matter where he is or who he is.
Just make him able to take a lot of damage.

    The idea is:

You right click benchmark mob and get a question if you wish to activate the benchmark mob.
Click yes and start hitting him with all you got.
The benchmark mob does not hit back at all. (He enjoys damage

Probably a good idea to put several benchmark mobs next to eachoter as we don't want arguing about who's next in line.

Let the benchmark run for at least 5 minutes.

Only one can hit the mob once benchmark mode is activated, unless you decide to make team benchmarking mobs aswell, but that's up to you.

    Make all special attacks work.
Benchmark mob har no evades, parry, perception etc.

Yes I would like to test how much damage I do.
    `
Anyone else wanna know how much damage they can give

No evades isn't going to work, since high levels will do nothing but crits then

    But otherwise a good idea.

True, I guess what I mean is that you should never miss. Or maybe let him have evades like average to good.

Maybe if you could hit on every shot and give you crits when you should have them. Ordinary crit ratio + scope + buffs + etc.
I don't know really, help me here

Only crit would of course make this idea less exciting

Oh. I was doing regular banchmarks for my comp, I guess I'd enjoy toying with such a mob as well

Maybe said mob could simply always be equal to your level... this way his evades would be closer to "average"? Don't know how this could apply, but in my odd and twisted algorithmic logic, it's just be a few more lines of code

It would probably reduse guard killing by a large amount sinde players would get a much better result by hitting the benchmark mobs.

My addition: After we kill it, it should tell us our average damage. (Not including crits)

Yeah, min damage, max damage, average damage and totalt damage.
Could even make one with and without crits.

    Nice chance for credit sink.

Sell the practice dummies in increasingly expensive models.

The more expensive the model, the more you can customise the dummy parameters.

Make the practice dummies only capable of absorbing predetermined damage based on price too.

So I walk up to a pratice dummy kiosk machine, when I click on the machine I get a checklist of options along with prices for those options. After picking all the desired options (race, profesion, armor type, reporting criteria, etc.), pick the amount of damage the dummy can absorb before becoming inoperative.

the person who uses it will determine the ac/evades on it. lv1 click = something low, lv200 click = something insane?
