How about having a bank, in which all of your own characters can access. It would make swapping back and forth from character to character much easier, since we wouldn't have to wait for someone we know and trust to come online.

I think this leaves open the possibility for some slight exploiting. No drop items can be kept in the bank, so if all your characters had access to them, they could access the nodrop items as well. I'm pretty sure that it was never intended that you could share nodrop items with anyone, including your other characters.
AO is not just about pvp, or Rp or power lvling. It is about whatever the players choose to bring to it. Don't make it personal against one of these groups because you feel nerfed by the game company.

Ah, but thats easily fixed! Just make sure that nodrop items are only visible and available to the character which 'owns' said item
