[ALL] OTPC: Omni-AF to crack down on offworld Notum smuggling

Omni-AF to crack down on offworld Notum smuggling
    June 24, 29483 - [Global]

OTPC - Following reports on offworld Notum smuggling and illegal trade figures, Omni-AF plan to execute new orders from Omni-Prime. The office of Lt. Gen. Robert Rosuma releases a statement to the public regarding these plans and how the civilian population may assist in the crackdown on non-corporate Notum trade.

Notum - our most treasured resource. The foundations of the Rubi-Kan economy, the pride of the Corporation. Omni-Tek has struggled constantly for control of the substance, despite the legal rights that the corporation was granted. And since the ICC ruling of 29476, leading into the bitter Notum Wars, nearly every one of us has been affected in some way by the battles on the tower fields for our most precious commodity.

And now we must struggle against yet more affronts to our rights as reports from Omni-Prime indicate that the offworld notum market contains "unacceptable" amounts of Notum that was not handled by Omni-Tek.

Legally, although anyone may mine the substance within the designated areas, only Omni-Tek may distribute Notum offworld. The trade of non-Omni-Tek Notum on the offworld market, therefore, has to have come from illegal sources. Such trade is little more than theft of Omni-Tek property.

At the last Omni Affiliates' meeting, Lt. Gen. Robert Rosuma, commander of the Armed-Forces on Rubi-Ka, relayed orders from Omni-Prime on the subject: Orders to crack down on offworld Notum smuggling and significantly reduce the illegal trade figures. A secretary from an Armed-Forces command office gave the following statement:

"The Lieutenant General wishes for it to be announced that a significant portion of AF budget will be diverted to anti-smuggling operations such as the orbital checkpoints and offensive actions. He would like to assure the community that such a reallocation will not affect the ongoing defensive and offensive campaigns of the Armed Forces on Rubi-Ka. However he is confident that the orders will be carried out to the full extent."

Of course the smuggling and trafficking of illegal goods has always been a problem on Rubi-Ka and the subject of many ongoing investigations. The secretary continues:

"It is the request of Robert Rosuma that all departments assist each other wherever possible to fulfil these orders and any information about offworld non-corporate Notum deals are to be reported immediately to the relevant people. If anyone requires further information, they should contact the office of either the Lieutenant General, or Chief Commander of Omni-Pol, Ivan Sergeyich."

OTPC asked the secretary what the average Omni-Tek employee can do to assist and fulfil their duty to the corporation.

"Able-bodied citizens should be on the lookout for calls for volunteers in offensive actions. Obviously I can't go into more detail about this. However, anyone can keep their eyes and ears open and report anything they might hear about individual notum deals, whether you suspect the trade is illegal or not. Although many deals are legal and take place only on Rubi-Ka, Omni-Pol has a special division to keep track of such deals and often highly useful intelligence is gathered that way."

It is incredible that, in such dangerous conditions as an alien invasion, people are still willing to risk their lives and harm the corporation while doing so. Remember: the illegal trade of Notum damages corporate profits and, by extension, takes credits straight from your own pocket.
