    Lightbulb Time for higher QL Informational Tools

    Now that even more level 200+ mobs are inhabiting the planet, Info Tools for assessing Level, HPs and Nano Points etc are overdue for upgrade. After all, there are already QL200+ Vision Enhancers and Repressors.

    Introduce QL200+ Info Tools please, so that scouts, explorers and anthropologists can do their jobs

    Lightbulb bump

    For the past week while exploring, I have lost count of the number of times my QL199 Info Tool failed "to penetrate the target's concealment".

    I currently use Eagle Eye+Gaze of Hunter which is more than adequate for QL200 Info Tool usage. But hmmm, surely there must be a reason Stare of Cerberus - with its high 761/761 reqs - was introduced other than to just buff for vision enhancers? And who does active spotting while travelling in the outzones anyway? Many zones have been changed to 75% gas with the recent dynacamp-filled patch.

    So many more level 200+ mobs now. Were QL200+ Info Tools forgotten in the overall plan??

    I'll bump this.

    My perception steenks, but now that mobs well over level 200 have been added, supporting functionality and infrastructure for players should follow.

    Yes this is definatly a must as the mobs are higher level. Hopefully this is something that is in the works already.

    People actually use those ?

    Well, maybe if we could check mobs twice our level I would... but right now shooting them and watching their reply works better

    I use them for various reasons.

    Among those, one reason has lately gained significant importance now that there are many high-level dyna-camps with their accompanying high-level bosses. In this case, I provide the hunt team with mob stats - as it helps towards formulating team composition and tactics.

    Example: Hunt Team spots a trio of mobs, all con various shades of deep orange.
    Knowing that one mob that has 303K HP and another 2 with 90K HP each, one can quickly and efficiently coordinate roles among team members and achieve a more effective hunt. Knowledge is good - it cuts down on unnecessary risk out in the wilderness where many unexpected and dangerous things can happen at any time.

    Without knowledge of mob stats, you'll have to use the primitive hit-the-mob-and-find-out-the-hard-way. If that suits you, fine ... whatever floats your boat. However, that is simply too slow, clumsy and unprofessional a method to me - after all, I am a scout and explorer for a reason

    Interesting, a QL199 Info Tool cannot counter skill checks on a Swapper mob which is green to me.

    bump this with a big can of love, if i didnt hate lvling in missions so much, id make my adv high lvl so i could ex[plore and find out mob stats. I think that this would be a very easy addon.

    Triple planted adv

    A triple implanted perception with all the tools should be able to break through any mob conceal in game .
    - Maybe have a 50/50 chance vs triple planted agent with cloak device ( Don't have a clue in this area though )

    But that's not how the tools work, is it? They have a hard cap based on the mob's conceal, I thought. Your perception may help you to use a ql200 tool, but if that tool can't break through the mob's conceal, it never will.

    Both your points are incorrect, I'm afraid.

    Firstly, the concealment of the targetted mob checks against the Info Tool itself, NOT the user's perception skill. That is why I'm asking for QL Info Tools to go beyond Q200. We have big perception buffs now but it means nothing if the QL of the Info Tool is low against the level of the mob we're trying to assess.

    Secondly, perception vs concealment skill checks between PCs work differently from PvM. A higher perception skill does not mean a better chance against a hidden player in that you are NOT passively and directly checking against the concealment skill of that hidden player. A higher perception skill just simply means a wider radius of your search area when you do active spotting.

    And what is active spotting? If you look at your Controls Menu, you will see a Magnifying Glass icon - this represents the search function a.k.a. spotting. And this function can only be actively used every 10 seconds.

    Ok So maybe a few of my factual points are wrong , the point of what i was saying if someone wants to be able to specialise in being a cartographer/counter-spy , they damn well should be able to .
