yep, around 6 months
bring on the black market... we are ready
Here's what i think about traders being able to get access to the blackmarket.
a very loud and very resonding no, and if they do... i'll take my chem mausser to each and every one of them... at lvl 2... since after lvl 6 they become gods.... fixers are so messed up right now i can't solo, i can't do pretty much anything for a team other than use up all the doc's nano on heals. The best thing i can do for a team is grid them out.. but the engi's have the better grid stuff. i mean hello beacon warp... need i say more?
Anyway.. the blackmarket should be a fixer only thing... i mean we are the "scum of Rubi" right? well darn it let me be an evil black market biznatch to get some really cool stuff!
That way i can actually do something for my guild and be able to get money like an agent can...
My guild is very fixer heavy.. due to me leading it and since it is the DB they are wanting to make theier char's more like the actual profession is... stealing blitzing and insanely making money... (NOT TO MENTION: riding ka2 of omni and clan traitors)
Please funcom.. make us a little special?
And stop the darned traders before they blow up the planet!

My lungs arent blackened by tar, they're blackened by SIN!
ok, fixers were told in november that we were next up for some love. its now moving into may. thats some pretty heavy love youve got there FC! cant get it through the door?

Have any of you played that game?
If so, then you will recognize where AO got alot of its professions and environment, even weapon names.
Fixers are SUPPOSED to be like traders are, but they work solely in the hard to get, black market goods. The same should go for AO, if they wish to keep to the theme of a Fixer's job.
Fixers and Traders, along with Engineers, need a boost VERY badly...something that isn't a buff for others to use, and something that will make them worthwhile as a class.
I think that a black market is great, but I would primarily like to see Traders have more than just wranglers, Engineers to have more than their 'bots, and Fixers to have more than their run speed buff and their lamer equipment teleport thingy which no one ever uses. (At least, I have yet to see or hear of anyone using it)

Actually, as a trader I think that it is more important for FC to fix the tradeskills, and/or give traders a legit way of trading themselves to money rather than giving them access to this black market. When you look at the AO-story however, traders actually should be able to do more shady business. I'm of course thinking of the animated series, and Eleena Oak who are caught red-handed smuggeling illegal weapons.

As Scumbug said perfectly regarding traders and blackmarkets earlier, I must agree that the blackmarket must be pushed and made reality on Rubi-Ka.
As a trader, money-making and equipping of the higest possible hardware, armor and weapons is key to survival, lacking solo skills, speed, blahblah. Anyway as a very active PtP merchant I often wish there were a way to centralize my operations. I even toyed with trying to make my apartment a halfassed shop. Even if we could just put a simple texure sign outside a room or something. Also programmable pods with items and prices run by merchant would be sweet. I use shopbot, but it is ignored by so many, I miss it most of the time. People would rather look at the items anyway when they are buying.
Using fixers with traders, as scumbug said, is a great operation. I have a fixer friend that supplies me with good armor and rare items/cloaks/guns etc. which I buy at wholesale, then slowly make my profits by selling to the masses. Peddling sometimes outside tirFT, yelling merchandise. I also must remark on the trader's supposed 'cheap' shop prices. If I am correct it is solely determined by comp lit skill, so you save like 4% average...bai!
Anyway, just wanted to see if I could get a little help on the blackmarket thingy from the dev guys, havin trouble me self
Also, while we're wishing:
>org/joint bank accounts
>searchable DB of merchant network inventory (shopbot-blah)
(would be cool to designate a backpack or container as 'public' to be searched by the masses)
>a casino

why should Agents not be allowed into the black market?
er how long exactly do you think the black market would be around after an omni-tek agent had gone in,spyed on it and then reported back to the authorities?
For years, as long as the Omni-Tek Crat's are properly bribed

I think agents should be allowed to access the black market, but they should be made to work for it. Any idiot could put on a trench coat and pretend to be a fixer. An agent should have to try and scheme his way into the "ring". Maybe fool a fixer into vouching for his reliability, or conning a fixer into taking him to the black markets location.
The bm's location could be made only available to fixers, and agents could find out these locations by getting onto an active (in illegal activities) fixers contact list.
These ideas are obviously very patchy, but you get the idea. It would be much more in character for an agent to have to work for his access.
the name of the film escapes me, but in one of the newish bond movies, 007 is doing just that, monitoring the illegal activities inside a black market, (you know the one, with the missiles and the fighter plane, near the beginning)
Originally I thought ok agents can look in, not to buy but to look...now I say NO WAY IN HELL
they got into the fixer shop in borealis, blackmarket should be fixer only
Queen of the Ninjas
Slyyk - MUHAHAHA! Old Fixers never die, they just take a different grid exit.
Cosmik - And don't worry, Jorji. We've got FC love for everyone. It's stockpiled and going out the door.
Jorji's art page (some mature content )
zomg she finally got myspace lawls
I agree that that is how it should be done... the agent should 'infultrate'.Originally posted by DRunkdRiveR

but with helpbot and the people of rubika pages its not going to happen, it is very very easy to check out to make sure that someone is actually a fixer
(and I do)
so.. because it is not possible in that way, agents and everyone else can stay the hell out of the black market
the fixers are the black market
Well, fine by me. But traders should get a legit market, containting more than good rifles that the agents will buy through using false profession anyways, and sugarfree rum (bad joke FC). Items that only could be created through tradeskills would also be great, damn.. tradeskills that WORK would be best.
