    After seeing the new clouds, I must say that I hope the Dev's don't make it 'too' earth-like - after all this is an alien world. The current 2 suns and 3 moons should all be doing their thing and the weather should be eye-catching but still a bit different than what we would expect on Earth.

    I like Sil's approach. When he first announced the upgrade, he said that the changes will more technical than visual, only to totally ...shal I say.. "pwn" us with this video.

    Personally I don't think people should worry about being out of date

    DirectX 9.0 4.09.00.0900 (RC4) December 19, 2002

    That was the release date for Direct X9 do so many people still use systems older than 5 years?

    I would think if your system is less than 5 years old you should see a definite benefit obviously maybe not to the standard in the videos. Only thing that you might need to do is get an updated video card, wouldn't even have to be top spec.

    In December 2002 these gfx cards were the things to have iirc:
    - Geforce FX (I bought this one and have since then had: Geforce 2, Geforce 3, Geforce 4, 6800 and atm I'm using a 7800 GS)
    - ATI Radeon 9700 Pro

    I would think most have equally good or better gfx cards in their PC's today...
    Anyway... It's possible to get equally good or WAY better cards today extremely cheap...

    The looks are great, the thing that bothers me still is:
    Are we still going to keep the same constant zoning?
    Since to move to everywhere you have to zone 2-5 times its a bit time consuming and a feature most new games try to reduce to its minumun expression, of course i don't mean to remove all zoning but maybe expand the zones Example make Rome Green > Red > and Blue 1 complete zone so we dont have to zone 2, 3 times to travel.

    I wanna see 50+ players fight please. Only way to tell if there is an improvement from today imo Also zoning is an important element.

    It looks great so far.

    I am curious if they will be taking the multiple suns of Rubi-Ka into consideration when they are doing the shadows. During the "hottest part of the day", there would be multiple shadows... one from each sun.
