AO on Mac OS X....

Heyas,

i havent any expiriences with the new iMacs, but i can tell it works on my old white 24" iMac (nVidia GEFORCE 7300GT) under crossover 7.1, 8.0 and under kronenbergs wine port. It has some troubles with transparent images, but it works.

Hello.

Now i have a 27" iMac, but cant get AO to work with crossover. When i start the game, there is just a black screen.

Any tips and tricks to get it to work?
I have updated the game through parellels.
I have also choosed all the 3 gfx settings, but with no luck. I am trying to run it in window mode.

Heyas,

make sure your bottle is set to a resolution that works (there are some threads that the engine doesnt go beyond 2048xblabla). Then run AO in Full screen mode (it will run in a mac window showing your wine bottle in "full screen".

Hope this helps, otherwise, post some screenies and some more config information (crossover wise).

It works. review this thread; there are crossover instructions in it. be sure and run AO in full screen mode, but set your crossover bottle to be a window. same affect as windowed mode for AO, but AO thinks it runs full screen.

Hello.

Just tryed again, and looks like it works. The graphic is nice and good looking. But i have 1 problem.

The mouse is not working very good in it. If i just keep it still, it jumps up and down. And if i try to rotate the camera it is nearly impossible.

Any know why?

Tryed both my Logitech Revolution and Magic Mouse. So must be some settings in AO or Crossover i guess?

EDIT: Changed the AO screen size to alittle lower. And now everything works great AO+OSX FTW! Thanks for your help everyone.

Congratulations on getting AO running on OSX

yes, to dual log, make a copy of the bottle that runs AO.

from the crossover dropdown menus:
Configure->Manage bottles->{select the bottle that has AO installed on it}->press "Add Duplicate" button

you'll end up with an "Anarchy Online (2)" item in your dropdown menu. use that for your second instance.

Hello.

If what does? It works perfect here. If i open another client, the window is just on top of the other, but alittle away from it. I can then click on the window i need.

I would just like to have the windows next to each other, as the 27" screen is rather big, so more then enough space for it.

Any know if it is possible to move the window where the client in OSX is?

Oh, i know what you mean: You are ending up in ONE crossover instance running two bottles in seperate windows. I had that, too. I tried to use Spaces to relocate each window on a separate virtual screen, which doesnt work - i had keyboard/mouse focus issus. So far i have to minimize one window to access the other one.

If someone got a solution to this, this would be cool

It runs great for me now on Parallels 6 VM with Windows 7 using the latest gen macbook pro and the latest gen imac.
