    Doctor Content Brainstorm

    Put your thinking caps on, guys. Let your imaginations run wild.

    We should compile a list of suggestions for new content for docs. something that wouldnt be overpowered, but would be a "fun" addition to the toolset.

    A few things to remember/ consider:

    1. What a doctor's definition is: "A Doctor is really a biotechnology specialist. The Doctors' prime skills focus mainly on healing and protecting but they also learn how to produce and administer powerful bio toxins that slow, weaken and wear down their opponents. Limited weapon skills can lead to a bumpy ride when going solo, but in a team the Doctor really shines. When chaos descends on the team in combat, its survival usually lies squarely on the Doctor's shoulders, so this profession is not for the fainthearted."

    2. Think about the nanos we already have, and extend/manipulate/combine them.

    3. Post whatever outrageous ideas you have, and i'll compile them into a sane list. maybe if we can give the devs a dose of our own creativity, they'd consider it.

    4. Lets not get caught up in "Oh, why don't we fix X before we worry about new content." I am going to eventually reference this list from the Bugs/Needs and Wants lists, so that stuff is covered already. Keep this thread as a constructive, imaginative, and thought-provoking list.

    List of Suggestions from this post. (I will update with more ideas):

    1. An AoE dot (fairly small area)
    2. A nuke that has a small dot as an aftereffect
    3. Extending the current nuke line
    4. A nano or kit to ward off rez sickness (from self or target)
    5. Some sort of snare
    6. An extention to the long and/or short term hp buff lines
    7. A 'festering' dot. (Starts at 1 damage, x damage is added every 2 seconds for a very long period of time)
    8. A new UBT-line debuff.
    9. A Dot Aura (hits all enemies in a short area with a DoT, as long as they are in the area)
    10. A proc that adds to nano init.
    11. A nano that hits the target with a dot from each line (but maybe gimps the doc's defenses, nano init, healing efficiency, etc)
    12. Other weapon lines with similar equip-mods like our pistols.
    13. A doc-only armor that has a different feel (ex:weapon skills and hp)
    14. A stun immunity nano. (Maybe +100 stun resist for 3 minutes, with the drawback of -xx% heal efficiency)
    15. An extention of the -weapon skills dot.
    16. A dot with -nano skills or -damage.
    17. A massive team healdelta buff (500-1k) but debuffs the docs healing ability. (-heal efficiency, -nano delta, etc.)
    18. A pet nurse with a short duration, that could be used for a heal, or to take agg off the doc.
    19. A "Resusitation" nano. (Brings the target back to life, warps them back to the spot... this nano might make docs more wanted for pvm.)
    20. A nano that removes DoT/blind/ransack/init debuff from a target (Not perk, as that requires teaming)
    21. A short-term "Drugging" nano (short mezz)
    22. The ability to buy 200+ stims (from a doc-only shop.... or possibly make them from high ql monster parts)
    23. An AoE UBT.
    24. Pills (Tradeskilled or bought) with beneficial effects, but side effects afterword.
    25. A nano that "syphons" xx% DoT damage on the target into healing for the doc. (though % healing eff. would be nerfed)
    26. A heal that CH's the doctor should his HP reach 0 once every very long period of time.
    27. The ability to debuff the perk attack time of the target.
    28. Doc-friendly NCU that adds to our important skills as well (-Cost, BM/MM, nano delta, etc.) Link to a nice suggestion
    29. Adding a morph to doc debuffs, to transform the target into something in PvP (or maybe pvm?)
    30. A dot with a lower NR check, or a long unremovable one.
    31. An aoe GTH Remover through BGH4 (click)
    32. A dot that can "Spread" from target to target without casting another nano. (like a plague)
    33. An Anti-Zerg nano: Shuts down offensive nanos/weapontry in exchange for an AMS (to allow the doc to heal teammates and not be insta-zerged)

    Be able to somehow starve off ressurection sickness(TR did this with placing a program that would lower your stats, but you could buy trama kits to remove it), would require an entire change of the rez system, like making all your stats go below a certain %.

    iirc TR did it as

    20% attributes/5m
    40% attributes/10m
    60% attributes/15m if you were to repeatably die before the sickness was finished the first time.

    IMO it would be cool, but dunno how much of a change that will be for AO.

    "You fire a muscle relaxant into the targets lower area, making there legs go wobbly and reducing there movment speed".

    Imagine if people couldn't run from a doc when alpha fails, or they sense even a chance of death in 30s+ time.
    Want triples nerfed? Here is what you can do (Don't be so retarded to apply this to todays game)

    id like to see an extension to the long- and short term health buffs.

    about the aoe dot...you have to be careful there not to create a new aoe-snare thing that will just be used to get ppl to come out of sneak. have have it have a rather small radius, maybe 5m, 10m max. FC said that quite clearly with the cataclysm line of NTs that they dont want the 20m radius AoEs dmg-nukes/dots anymore

    Well, as I see docs as more of a bioengineer or biochemist than a pure doctor, I've thought about the following 'flavor' nano:

    Basically it's a bacteria culture that slowly increases in strength over time.
    Maybe AoE, maybe single.
    Last for about 5 minutes, harmless at first (like 1 point dot every 2s ie the first 10s, if you let it run for 5 minutes tho, you're in serious ****).
    Let it eat away armor (aka stacking ac debuff, for fun).
    Slowly increasing init debuffing aswell.
    And ofc either chemical or poison damage.
    Give doctors a nano that removes the nano, usable every 1 minute, team only.


    That + a new ubt, as crats outdebuffs us by far now, and usually it's UBT that mobs have resistance vs, not crat debuffs.

    I remember something like this being suggested a while ago. Scaling dot would be pretty nice for soloing faster, like the longer you fight, the more dmg it does.

    And a doc only pvp weapon with 110-130% BM or similar as ar would be nice.
    Ie no specials on it, but a 0.1/0.1 high damage nuke with 11s lockout would be nice
    (ofc not reflect piercing)


    Call the nuke "forced metamorphosis" or "cell splitter".


    And call the scaling dot thing for "impending doom", and put it in it's own line ofc.

    An extension of current init debuff line. With the addition of LE, stuff like UBT has much less impact than it used to. Procs are a non-controllable factor and as such is not "a tool" imo.

    My views, scaled in order at the moment, would be:

    1) a type 2 action that gives 1K nano init.
    concept: BI on full DEF without even further gimping offense.

    2) a triple-dot that causes 2x the damage of the current PvP DoT and stacks above the MP DoT on the "C" class. BUT that cancels the 1K nano init buff and blocks it for 15 minutes.
    concept: you want that good offense? bye bye any form of passive defense.

    3) pistol+burst and MA+brawl equally buffed in symbs
    concept: self evident (and note I didn't say we need more MA buffing, only that both lines should get equal treatment)

    4) doctor-only weapon buffs that only last for 5 minutes. Not for AR, but for selfing weapons that otherwise are a real pain to get on. +500 to Pistol, MA (and I'd slap HW, Shotgun, fling, burst and brawl on there too), level locked to TL6 ... but the key is it lowers your AAO by 1000.
    concept: There are -no- HW/Shotgun/MA/Pistol weapons docs can't equip because of reqs, but we're stuck using them forever because of the process of getting them on. Give docs a way to swap weapons around (and yes Ober, I realize it wouldn't help Silverback docs, too bad), but take away ALL incentive to use this nano for anything else -ever- so that people don't scream about doc AR.

    5) MA versions of the doc-only pistols with 25% lower damage, lower reqs and the doc-friendly mods that are on the pistols.
    concept: self-evident ... some real choice on the prof's weapons please ... shotguns could be added in to all the places I mention MA/pistols, too.

    6) Doc-only (because otherwise it would be too much for soldiers / advies) armor that buffs pistol+hp in the same amounts that CM does for MA+hp ... adding pistol and MA to doc Ofab could do the trick (but then we have to wear that ugliness).

    some of your ideas are very good hyde.

    your suggestion #3 im going to exclude because its part of the issues thread already.

    suggestions 4 and 5 are very doubtful to ever happen, just because of their nature. we'd never get a huge weapon buff because it doesnt fit the category of a doctor. (remember, doctors are weak with weapons by nature. giving us the biggest weapon buff ingame wouldnt make sense.) as a reminiscence for all of those that dont use pistols, because i know your out there, (and b/c i fully comprehend the diverse nature of doc weapons pre-blazes pistols) i'll add #5 as a suggestion here.

    as for number 6, i cannot speak for fc, but think i can safely assume that there isn't going to be too many drastic changes like this to doc ofab. but the suggestion wouldn't hurt, if there was ever another ofab-like armor being developed.

    Kinda knew I did a tradeoff when I put it on back in the days.

    I've rolled another doc (on diff acc.) to do the 'normal' doc thingies

    Anyways, good stuff. Tho having the 1k init buff as a proc, would make us have to hit people, and that's kinda ... yeah not reliable at all

    As much as I wouldn't mind that, doubling the damage every 2 secs would give you 1024 ticks after 20s, 32768 after 30s and 1073741824 after 1 minute (Well, I might be off with 1 multiplier here and there..)
    "slightly" overpowered I guess... hehe

    Just adding 2 every 2 sec would give 600 ticks after 5 minutes, which again would suck. So something around there

    Think we should eventually leave scaling to funcom, but atleast make it like 5k every 2s when it's close to finished

    No, I meant LE procs (hence the "type 2")... sorry for the terminology, type 2 action, whatever. Just something we can fire off and forget as long as we don't use the superdot or zone (stupid thing that ... zoning cancelling LE actions). Editing post accordingly.

    :sigh: you did say brainstorm our wildest here? Not conducive to brainstorming if you're already rationalizing things.

    And as for #4, it would:

    a) not allow us to get anything on that we can't get on now (we already -can- equip the best that is offered to us,we just can't ever take them off without spending serious work / buffbegs putting them back on ... unless some pistol docs are leaving +MR in their wrists)

    b) not work as any form of combat buff, since while its running you actually end up with 500 -less- AR than without it. If that's still not enough I could easily see it forcing all weapons into a 0% OE state while it is running.

    c) wouldn't open any unintended possibilities like the DShark, since it would buff neither FA nor Assault Rifle.

    It is only meant to allow docs to use their weapons while not being screwed by doing things like being social (RP) or equipping poorly designed things like those idiotic alien costume boxing gloves.

    The only thing it might do is give TL6 and low TL7 docs a boost on the weapon they wear, but would be almost immediately 25% more OE than they are currently. And seriously, even with the above, who in the world is worried about a TL6 doc that a 220 can attack?

    Either way, $.02 has been deposited, hopefully the economy picks up.

    i understand what you mean hyde... i was just differentiating "content" that would be new and innovative and creative from stuff that has already been brought up and thought about in the past. the parts that i did not include were stuff that have already been brought up and that ive heard feedback from.

    not that im trying to stifle your creativity, just looking for new ideas instead of regurgitated ones that i know have been shot down already.

    i guess im wrong....keep imagining. the worst they can say to our list is no

    That's not quite the suggestion he wrote. If the dot worked this way you'd hit for 536.870.912 dmg after 1 min (30th tick) and 576.460.752.303.423.488 dmg after 2 min (60th tick)

    Sure it would be handy for soliong beast in 1 min, but it might just be slightly overpowered

    both hp lines extensions
    epsilon purge extension? (remove max of 65NCU + locks nanos for 30sec, 100% def check vs bm/pm/mm, 3s recharge castable once every 2min,removable by viral scanner)
