Apartments really are useless in the game. Funcom needs to really do something with them to make it interesting. I could re-post my great ideas from a long posting from months ago (if I could find it), but everyone I think has the same ideas. At least give this some consideration, dev guys!

And wouldn't it be cool if one day traders could use their apartments to sell things almost like a shop instead of an apartment. Just another suggestion.

Okay folks, get ready for my two bits on this just to spout something and keep the thread bumped. Don't worry, I don't usually ramble too much.

First,
that terminal by the door that's useless, make it a bank as was stated before, but maybe not just a normal bank. You gotta figure, if you can't raise the item limit in the apartment (Probably not that hard to do) Then just add a personal bank in the apartment to store items. While that won't help the appearance any, it could be useful.

Second,
Definitely need to change the rooms or make it possible to select from several templates for your apartment. I've seen a lot of good ideas in this thread. Please don't ignore them Funcom. There are some really decent rooms in missions, so I imagine that this also shouldn't be too much work to do.

Third,
Location, Location, Location. That's what real estate's all about, and I hate having to run back to Backyard 11 or 12 with my doctor if I want to stop in at my apartment. The place looks like crap, even with the few items I managed to throw in there. No point in me going out of my way to sit in an asylum type room.

Four,
Please change the apartments. If this many people want it, imagine how many others want it and just haven't said anything.

that clan apartment had a long hallway and 2 floors. It has it's own banks as well as the equivilent of insurance terminals/reclaim terminals. It also has several citicom terminals which allow players to get missions, read email, read the forums, get OP statuses, etc.

Pipboy those are awesome pics!!! I might try that game after its been out for a couple of months.

I really wish Funcom would do apartments like that in AO and I wish they would just have a special apartment patch in the very near future to fix them because stuff like this keeps you in the game longer.

The sims online and other games are really going for the community building aspects of online games. AO needs more stuff like that.

Apartments would help reduce lag in cities! Just look at how many people stand around chatting in cities. Sure many are there for missions but alot of them are there because they like the social element of AO. So, give us somewhere nice to hang out. It would make the players happy and maybe reduce the lag a bit.

Yes, and if guilds had mission terminals in their HQ, you could go there to get missions and be guaranteed to be around friends when you do.

I visited my little apartment for the first time in months today, and I must say its sad. I have a few paintings on the walls, but the lighting inside is so wierd that they are all too dark, I have a some vases and a fern, but its so bare. As a loyal Omni employee I must say living in these conditions is beginning to effect my work.

I have nowhere to sit, no place to eat my dinner, no "facilities", no bed. I'm sick of dining out every night, give me a table, a chair, a cola dispensing machine (like the ones in the tradeskill shops) anything!

I played the Neocron beta a little bit. I hated the system, the interface was stodgy, I kept missing things about AO...but for the apartment. I was all over the apartment. It was SO FREAKING COOL. I like the computer temrinal that connects you to the forums and the rec machine that heals you quickly especially much.

This has probably been said, but I think that to get a new apartment all you should have to do is delete your key.

The stuff should automatically either been transported or stuck in your inventory.

They could have apartments based on your character class. The MA would a tea room maybe a small garden attached to it a meditation room. The crat would have an office space, a formal dining room. The enforcer maybe a personal gym, the adventurer a place with stuffed animals. Maybe a gun collection room for the soldier

Features in your apartment improve with title lvl, maybe at lvl 4 getting an attendant droid of some sort.

For having people in your apartment, have a command to invite them in and also one to expel someone. If they leave the apartment they need to be reinvited. /apartment invite <name> and /apartment expel <name> They still need to walkin and expel sends them to their last save spot.

Definitely need more than 10 items and need chairs, sofas and tables. A personal apartment owner bank access would be good as well.
