places/creatures/sights that you would regret not having seen when leaving ao

A friend of mine will leave ao shortly, her subscription runs out in a few days. I would very much like to take her on a tour of things/monsters aso that are 'just kewl' to have seen at least once in ao.

As I took a rather powerlevelling attitude with my own characters I however (embarrassed to admit) have very little knowledge of what is out there (as in not in one of the big cities or missions), let alone that I can recall the locations of the few things I did see at a time (like that miniature village, or those beasties that pop up out of the ground like trees).

I would be most gratefull if some of you could post some cool mobs/things/places that you feel someone should have seen before leaving ao.

There is no issue with transportation or level of mobs, we both have 170+ chars and yalms so that shouldn't be a problem. (if there are lower level mobs that are pretty cool to see and you normally don't encounter in missions that would be cool too)

I remember there were posts like this once but sadly have been unable to find them again :-(

    Thanks a lot!

    Arrow well

There are lots of places to see...

Ill give ya a couple and Im sure others will have more...

The Medusa/Medusa platforms in DAV are a must see, and seen as you have 170+ chars kill a couple while you are out there, they sing the most sad and hypnotic music when they fight... (ooo I miss that)

The enigma tree forest in CAV, not sure of coords but very cool...

Personally Milky Way as always been my favorite zone though...many reasons that I cant explain...

Anyhow there are hundreds of places to see, have a nice tour...

I can't provide coordinates for any of these, I am at work, but most of them are marked on Dovve's map.

Check out the Leets camp in andromeda when the boss is up. A waist-high glowing leet!

Check out the 'Maze' in Broken Shores. It's not super special but it's nifty and fun to run around in.

Head to the Three Brothers Volcano in Avalon. Very nifty. So is the southern lava basin, and some of the nano freak camps that are nearby these two spots.

Check out the Medusas in both their areas, Deep Artery Valley and Eastern Fouls Plains. They are one of my favorite monster types.

Travel down the river from Wine in Belial Forest on foot and you will encounter some Eremites or Anchorites (the mobs that come out of the ground) and Fossegrims (huge tree mobs with three faces). If you get to Hollow Island you might even find a pit lizard or two wandering around. At the end of the trip is a wrecked outpost sandwiched between some neato waterfalls.

You can also find Eremites in Deep Artery Valley, and their cousins the Cenobites can sometimes be found in Mort, Milky Way near the crash site (big wrecked space ship), and the desert of lost people in Broken Shores.

Check out Golem Island and Eremite Altar in Deep Artery Valley. Nifty look, nifty critters. Enigma Island is cool too, but it's just a teaser of the big gem, one of the coolest/weirdest places in the game in my opinion - Enigma Forest in Central Artery Valley. I think it'd be possible to spend days there, just looking at things, but I believe the enigmas are aggro against Omnis.

The Temple of Three Winds in Greater Tir County is nice. Not very big, but something to have seen before you go.

The Fixer Grid. Get someone to upload you to it if you haven't already.

The inside of the Council of Truth building. Find an engineer with a key to warp you in, and check out the meeting chamber.

I'm sure you've seen the big cannon thingies in Clon****. But if not, go see them.

The miniture village you mentioned is in Galway County. Also in Galway County is the Bronto Burger Factory (Boycott! Boycott! Unsanitary and Cruel!) and a Nature Preserve.

The Lush Hills Resort diving platform. Jump off the high board a few times for max falling damage *giggle*

That's what I've seen in person and remember

It's amazing to see how much effort they put in to make such areas on the huge world map of AO. Such a shame that a lot of people won't ever see them, only to be confined to the major cities, and the occasional hunting spots.

I haven't been to half of those spots, which is why one day I hope to get my cursed, unlucky hands on a yalmaha (finally) and go for a cruise around rubi ka, guess I'll just have to lvl up a char thats capable of making money himself

I remember finding that Omni resort, cant remember how I found it, but I loved the idea of the diving boards But I was shattered to find out that you couldnt actually take the lift up to the top! I asked a GM/ARK about it, and he told me about how moving objects cant be solid, or else major lag would set in. I then asked him if they were ever going to make it possible to get up there some time, but he said no, its just for looks, and if I really wanted to take a dive or two, "just get in a yalm and fly up there".

So thats my ultimate goal in AO, to see it all, not to be lvl 200 and be the most uber leetz0r PvP king etc.... but to travel around and most of all, dive off that diving board.

Oh and btw, no I cant be bothered running

BTW, I heard u can now actually use those lifts. Not sure... coz I've not verified.

Iphigenia, glad u liked that. I have more, but did have the time to seive thru all those screenshots archived in that forum + some more in my harddirve .. (yet to be uploaded).

    Hehhe.. maybe next time.

If you're talking about he lifts in Lush Fields you can but be careful you die sometimes going up them. I took 500 damage on my enforcer which has 2.5k hps and died. It was kind of funny and sad at the same thing but I think it was the operators revenge for me running up and jumping off them like 50 times in a row. Well it was fun till I died. heheh.

Steve, you can sort of use the lifts now...there's an invisible thing that shoots you up into the air so you can land on the board.

    And GREAT screenshots, Ash.
