How do I leave an old dead group?

My clan is very dead. I dont even know if it were ever really allive. I really want to get out of it but I dont know how I would love to join a new clan. How would I go about this? If im allready in a group now? Can I just join another and my old one will disapear. It has no active members and I have never been able to get anyone in it to reaspond.

1. target self, type "/org kick" or "/org leave"
2. Switch sides (omni/clan)
3. Petition - a GM can remove you easily.
