    Question Gulid Cloaks in Booster Pack !!

    Now when you are doing this Major Land thing which sounds very cool, maybe you would consider to make it possible to make unique cloak for your Guild, something like the Chief of the guild can order a cloak with a specific logo, if possible he/she can send in a draft of Guild Logo and then afterwards be able to mass produce it or buy it in a special store !!

    That would be could, except probably hard to do.
    Also, most ppl would want to wear their armor coat most of the time so....


    Another idea be to make logos, and stick em either next to the chars name, or have em floating over the shoulder like the mission token thingy.

    But i doubt that has any chance of happening

    Both ideas have problems from a technical standpoint, I'm afraid. Currently, AO keeps a library of shapes and textures on your hard disk. When the server tells the client that it needs a particular texture, your machine can load it from this local cache, which is a lot faster than having to download it from the servers.

    To have a custom texture for a guild cloak would mean one of two things:
    • Textures for guild cloaks have to be downloaded from the server, which takes longer and adds to the chop.
    • Textures for guild cloaks are released as part of a patch update, meaning delays of a month or more before your uniform is ready.
    The same problems apply to guild logo items that sit in HUD or utility slots, of course.

    It's simple to solve tho. Lets say Funcom decided to make a CAPE with specific guild logos on it, or flags or something. The idea is a simple logo. What it would contain is some sort of image (i.e. a Gun or a Sword or what not). Guilds could choose one of these logos. Then they could choose from a database of backgrounds or patterns. Then a guild could choose their colors.

    Each combination can be used only once on the server. There should be a limit to when you can get a Logo. Probably 50+ members and what not. Maybe a level requirment.

    It's a Crude way to do it, but it works.

    how about this idea?
    the logo will be built from shapes that come ready for you to pick.
    you just put them on eachother and its not like a new textur its a few textures that you already have only they are putten together.
    its realy not a big problem...
