Evade mechanics

Anybody know how evade is calculated? Most importantly - do you have to keep the evades up to make them effektive or will they always have a influence.

E.g. if a lvl 200 char with only 50 in evade meet a lvl 200 MOB will there be ANY chance for evade or just a very small one.

As crat evades are too blue to keep maxed at all times - but my point is - if i keep them 50% maxed will they be 50% effective ?

the real mechanics of evades are unknown, but ip in them are never a waste.

what they do is lowering the chance of mobs to land a critical hit on you.

but if you are at 100% aggro (meaning your agg/def slider is all the way to the right) you still get hit almost every time by a mob, even with maxed evades. if you move the slider to the left however, evades become more effective and mobs are starting to miss you completely.
