Actually its Botfixr now.

The profession bots (run by yours truly) are a way for you to chat with other players of same character type while in the game. When you are added as a member and put on the guestlist, you get an Invite when you logon to the chat area.
Joining the chat area lets you talk to other players in Both dimensions while playing.
There are other functions available, such as
!whois Name tells you characters stats for the dimension you are logged into
!whoisall Name same as above but in All dimensions
!is Name tell you if a character is online
!online lists bot members currently online and how many are in the chat area

Yes, anyone can join. The intent is to have Docs in botdr, soldiers in botsol, etc.
