    Personally, I like to keep things local. My bots get updated as soon as my game is patched, and with more items than you get from an outside source. Using a central DB adds latency, bw overhead, and puts availability out of my control. I'm also trying to move my bot relays to a local IRC server.

    usually if I'm aware of a patch, I have it public within 10 minutes of the servers going back up.
    and soon, I'll have it 100% automated patching so even if I'm on the road, it'll update.
