Thread: Solo leveling areas

  1. #1

    lvling area from 80+

i thaught i would post this as i found it extreamly difficalt to get a team as i found most NT's in ely are hated even if u havent done anything.

i rememberd a nice spot in belial forest with hundreds of snakes in it all lvl 133ish if u can cast Blaze of Hephaestos or higher and have 450+ runspeed they are easy to kite and are worth about 33k each u can happily do about 20 or 30 at once giveing you alot of xp for your lvl and at 80 i was getting 1 lvl and a half per run :P

i thaught i would post this because people seem to forget that RK mobs do still give xp not as much as SL mobs but we dont go by single xp as NT's we go by mass xp 30 X 33.000 = 990.000 xp the only downside is the snakes take 15 min to respawn so they take longer than the sl mobs (appart from hecklers there 15 min i think) but 990k xp every 15 min without team folding or being anoyingly stupid thinking there uber and getting you all killed is nice.

just a thaught for you NT's that are having problems like i was im 113 now and the spot is getting a little slow for me so im off to find another one i will post a good RK 113 spot when i find one.

PS: its proberly going to be medusa's in EFP now i can self cast Volcanic Eruption

ops heh i better put the spot for you aswell its in wine (belial forrest) there is one spot SW of Fgrid 8-M and anotehr spot that is a little bit more difficalt to do but has more snakes NW of wishbone mountain on a little lake (lake is shalow u can run through it without swimming)

Having a sticky post of locations for RK kiting spots would be a great idea if it would get any of the lowbie NT's out of Elysium. But the majority of them out there made their NT's to kite for ingots, the xp is just a nice little afterthought.

just tryed the medusa's in DAV and well..... ummmm ... i got utterly whooped so prolly a bit hard for anyone my lvl looking for other spots that might be good will try to keep this post updated.

little update on the first post i did the snake area SW of 8-M actualy has a unused city area next to it that is what makes it a ideal kiteing area because its totaly flat and easy to keep them following as at that lvl you cant cast the area dot to keep them following its hard to keep agro

I did bothackers from 35-70, had a friend tank them all (mongo keeps them all occupied), just curious if anyone could recommend a spot around 70. I'd prefer doing it in RK, less crowded, so less people to anger

I did ONLY RK leveling for my NT up until level 85 or so.

    1-10 - Backyards / Missions

10-30 - Shades Pipe Lush Fields

20-40 - SW Mines in Lush Fields

40-50 - NW Mines in Lush Fields

50-85 - Shade Camp in Pleasant Meadows

    85 - 101 (where I am now) - Mortigs / Spiders

I plan to move out of the SL and hit the RK mobs (cyborgs, medusa, etc) since most people are in the SLs killing. Rubi-Ka is now the NT playground.

These are just guestimates on my levels, since I leveled so damn fast that I have a hard time remembering just exactly where I was. hehe
I do remember leaving an area after the mobs turned to green for me. I always kept my run speed maxed, so I was able to keep ahead of them most of the time. My fiance' made her Doc at the same time, so it was easier than totally kiting because we could stand in place and nuke them, but kiting in those areas did happen (Esp Shade Camp) and she and I leveled FAST. We were teamed most of the time so the XP was about half than normal for both of us and we still leveled really fast.

I have had a lot of people argue that going to the SL is still going to get you more XP, but I really do beg to differ on this one. Most of the time the prime locations in the SL are already camped by other teams, and as an NT I didn't want to stick around and kite since I knew that I would A) piss people off and B) get myself and them killed in the process. Besides, most people who argue that SL will get you more XP are only thinking of a one-on-one type killing setup. AoE changes that aspect quite a bit.

I just rolled a baby NT today and am having a blast so far...one of the big reasons was this thread.

I've been meaning to roll up a NT to play for a while, but have held off because of all that stupid anti-NT sentiment that's been floating around (most of which is complete bollox imho). Anyways, finally said forget about it and rolled one up this evening...

That being said I'm not looking to play around in SL that much (partly because of the reputation, don't really feel like getting hassled all the time, but mainly because I don't like SL a lot anyways). So...I'll be hunting mainly on RK and a thread like this with good NT hunting/kiting areas is much appreciated...

Anyone else have any more to add? I imagine that in the next few days...once I level a bit more....I'll be trying to find some more spots and add them to the list...but I'm also hoping that some of you other fine folks would have some spots to add

    Cheers,

    Red face

The Pleasant Meadows area has a large amount of various monster camps where it is possible to kite large amounts of fast spawning monsters like Eye Mutans, Clawfingers, Tentacle things and so on. Mobs range in lvl from 40ish-100 and don't have that much HP, so they go down rather fast, drops credits, monster parts that if you go with a doc he can convert and sell for 10-50k a piece, if you're lucky certain camps, like the one's near the edge of the water that seperates PM and Omni-1 with shades/claws in them, you might be lucky to find a Nullity Sphere or Grid Armor disc...

Also human mob camps near there will be very profitable kites as the mobs drop large amounts of weapons and armor. Fill your inventory with backpacks and go kiting there chances are it'll be deserted and you'll be able to reap a substantial profit.

If you can manage to raise your run speed to 900 (fixer buffs or adventurers morphs) , you'd go to Perpetual Wastelands, NE of zone and kite Cyborgs Generals (lvl 190-200). You need some practice as they are quite tough to kite, but it's doable and I've done 100->120 by kiting cyborgs with my testlive NT char in some hours.

You can continue Cyborg kiting up to lvl 140-150 I guess, but the best item ingame, aka 1000 tokens , is mandatory, specially for NTs where run speed, hit points and Computer literacy are 3 maxxed skills each level.

To complete that Token board, you can use the old way : doing missions, team or solo. If you do solo missions, pull 40% difficulty, in Broken Shores, and pull 3 to 9 missions at a time to go faster... Can be boring but you can also do team missions, higher ql, with less tokens/hour but with better xp and better loots (NCU, belts, armor, gems, omnifiers etcetcetc...)
If you can't stand missions, you have another option : the hunt for tokens in WW for omnis and in avalon for clans. check guides and websites for more details, but some mobs, quite easy to kill, drop single tokens and some weapons you can gather to do a quest which will give you a mission token.

The final option is the most controversed one : elysium hecklers. for a NT, alone, with no competition, this is the best source of income/xp but nowadays, I'm sure it's not anymore...

Awesome...looks like we have a lot of good information accumulating in this thread

I'm definitely going to have to check out all these different places (and hopefully find some of my own )

Ely hecklers are definitely NOT for me though....I don't want to have to deal with all the associated grief that goes with it...

Anyways...keep it coming guys...this is good stuff and I'd love to see more

    Cheers,

I think I might've mixed up Lush Fields and Pleasant Meadows... not sure though, and not going to check right now as I'm at work ;p

In the zone that has 20k in it (PM or LF) there is a road leading to something called Treepine Hut (or something like that), near there are some buildings and monster camps that have been there forever, full of somewhat high lvl human mobs, if I remember correctly.

I don't have any coords and I'm not entirely certain, but isn't part of the fun the exploring part

i rolled an NT recently to try out the class. I like to try out different playstyles so NT looked fun.
I intend to solo mostly on RK and see just how this AOE thing works
here is a thread with some good (though jumbled) info in it:
    RK areas

    hope it helps

both the following guides are dircted to team/solo play in SL. may be of use to find good areas to explore for kiting. there is more than hecks to kill...

    20k is in pleasant meadows

Not sure how well nt's can take on dyna camps but newland desert has a lot of em starting from the low 20's i think up to 60'ish, warmint woods has a lot of dynacamps to as do wailing wastes, i have done a lot of dyna camping with my fixer, rather fun and okey xp, getting a new div 9 for my soldier is nice to.

As for sl and bad rep, never kited so far, done some aoe 35-40% missions but since i'm alone i doubt i pi** anyone off
A spot i frequent alot is tinker tower at shell beach in ely, place is like 98% empty since people seem to hate fighting blinding mobs, okey xp in the 80's, and no i'm not a mad twink so could probably be done a lot sooner.

Disaster!! someone has built a city next to the snakes - it's ruined my favorite kitting spot! You can still kite but you have to run round the city streets and the snakes keep getting lost ;(

O.o. sounds like a good spot, been thinking of trying medusas as well, anyone else know of spots like these for 130ish + ? Trying to avoid Ely as much as possible except when im actually in a team there (*shudders*)

    SSE to SE of 20k.

You run through a forest and over a river and you're there.

Rahmorak - I saw the events of 9/11 (or 11/9 for the rest of us ) unfold whilst playing AO, an experience shared across countries and nationalities. It was a moment where we saw the best (people all overthe world coming together in shock, grief and support) and the worst (e.g. cries of 'lets nuke <insert country>'), but it was a moment that would not have been possible but for the world of the internet and MMOs.

Clawcamp is about the same level as the shades. however, the camp is more often occupied by higher level NT's looking for IDs. Besides, the shades are gimpier, and die a lot faster than the Claws- so if you're out for XP the shade camp would be the better spot..

I was lucky enough to get teamed with two other NTs at the shade camp, never seen that much xp on such little time before
