Sound works now, changed ~/.aocedega/config to use oss drivers instead.
AO is painfully slow in full screen( 2-3 fps), faster in window mode (20-25 fps).

    Gonna play around some more....

    Bounsar,

You are definitely the man! Having a tool like that will make life so much easier, which I'm sure you already know.

Just wondering, has anyone tried running AO through VMWare Workstation on Linux.

I run Linux on VMWare through XP, but I don't have a Linux host system. Just wondering if anyone's tried...

  15. #75
Hmmmm, they "refreshed" the driver but keep the same version (?)

Anyway, I'm currenlty downloading it, I'll check if any change with my fps :]

    Edit:
    Filesize is different:

Ok, just (re)installed the ATI driver and logged quickly ingame before the downtime.

I didn't notice big change.. still between 10/20 fps.

Morb's patch got more effect on it (I was below 10 fps before applied his patch).

I'll try to tune my XFree and Wine setup now, maybe I'll get 2,3 fps more

    Issues

Did anyone here install from the AI cds and still get it running with cedega?

I didn't hear about it working in linux until the day AI came out, so i never tried it before.

I'd like to thank Marius for trying his best to help me out on IRC the other night, he managed to trace it down to the call being made to load clientr.exe and it never being returned, hence the game just halts when the "play" button is pressed.

I installed aocedega from the bash script by ElmerFudd, and it all seemed to go fine, no errors whatsoever.

I was just wondering if everyone here just installed AI from the huge patch on Wednesday or if anyone has it running with an install/upgrade from the AI cds.

    Nice Work ;o)
But when I try to start the game ...

    Code:
    fixme:ddraw:D3D_GL_update_texture_stage_states unsupported texture stage state 9 (BUMPENVMAT10), value=0x00000000
    fixme:ddraw:D3D_GL_update_texture_stage_states unsupported texture stage state 1 0 (BUMPENVMAT11), value=0x00000000
    (...spam...)
    fixme:ddraw:D3D_GL_update_texture_stage_states unsupported texture stage state 9 (BUMPENVMAT10), value=0x00000000
    fixme:ddraw:D3D_GL_update_texture_stage_states unsupported texture stage state 1 0 (BUMPENVMAT11), value=0x00000000
... and finally stopped with ...

    Code:
    err:ddraw:D3D_GL_setup_fixed glGetError returns 00000500 for setup_fixed
X Error of failed request: GLXBadContextState
Major opcode of failed request: 144 (GLX)
Minor opcode of failed request: 5 (X_GLXMakeCurrent)
Serial number of failed request: 6032
Current serial number in output stream: 6032
    Using: Fedora C2, Nvidia Card

    Do you know any solutions?

    Code:
    rpm -e --nodeps xorg-x11-Mesa-libGL
This is what conflicted with my drivers.

    Thanks marius ;oP
