    Omni Tek dress code I LOVE THE IDEA Omni Tek SHOULD have ALOT of restrictions on what they CAN and CANNOT do I mean crap can YOU tell the difference between the free willed rebels and the controlled corporate members!? I cant!! you guys want a role playing game I want to play a role playing game Im sorry if I run a multi gazillion dollar corporation and had half the people Omni Tek has.............I would do ALOT of firing!

    Clan advantages......Notice no exact ETA.....okay so heres an idea,.....well I will reiterate another idea here which I find totally brilliant though will modify it slightly.........Clan ONLY trade items! or hey here goes how bout we get all the clan guilds together role play raiding a secret Omni facility and get CLAN ONLY armor and weapons.......I remember a patch where you removed Knights armor etc. or something like that.........Okay cool........So now were totally vulnerable to attack whereas Omni has there awesome armors.......I love Clans chances..I may as well hand in my gun and jes lay down and die.......I dont support peace.....I dont buy from Omni I dont trade with buff or even like Omni I believe in WAR with Omni..So I believe instead of attempting to balance the classes MAYBE you guys could work on balancing the sides?

    A clan Trenchcoat would RULE so would DIES!!! I WOULD LOVE TO DIE ALL MY ARMOR!!!!! THAT WOULD BE COOL!!!!!! AND MY WEAPON TOO!!! <Yalmaha too if thats possible ;-p> The advent in clothing and armor dyes in UO was an awesome concept and to this day people still wear the ever famous black dyed clothes so maybe sell them in a shop?..........

    I believe the Ring of Suffering should have some cool ability like boosts all your skills +5 as well as the Omni Tek ring that would be a good thing!

    Also Clans are sposed to be poor yes.......But weak?

    I would love to see some new ways to personalize armor and weapons like dyes or something like that I think it would really benefit game play though of course you will always run into people who will look identical but it will cause them to seek to be different so *Shrugs* Also maybe "Clan Tank armor" resembling the shoulder pads the Cyborgs wear with the skulls fitting on the shoulder area?!!?!?!? THAT WOULD BE COOL!!!!!

    I would also like to see disadvantages to teaming with rival members like maybe an Omni/Clan team recieve less loot and XP then if they were full Omni or full Clan team?..........I would love that!

    I want to see those alleged clan advantages out as soon as possible please we clans could definately use them.........In response to the "What about us who arent in a clan" post well I believe it is insentive to join one and a reminder that a lone clan stands the chance of a one legged man in a butt kickin contest.......Anyways thats my ideas listen to them or as Im guessin Ignore them..........But hey who knows......Maybe Funcom will restore my rapidly depleting faith in them?...........Anything is possible right?

    I think clans should get BOMBS!!!!! Special items for each class like Fixers get BOMBS!!! that they could plant in Omni cities and have them BLOW UP!!! Like it USED to be before the infamous whiners came a cryin and Funcom went a listenin and now yah jes cant blow anything up these days!

    Soldiers special Assault Rifles maybe a Assault Rifle with a grenade launcher that when using Burst does seperate damage using Grenades instead of bullets like <QL 50 Clan special DMG:5-100 (100), 20-150 (350) Attk. 1.50s Recharge 2.50s Ammo Type Bullets, Grenades skill required Assault Rifle Full Auto Burst Grenade> Something like that.......

    Agents with special clan rifles containing a chamber that poisons the bullets when an Aimed Shot is made doing Chem Damage and having an accumulative "Poison" damage based on QL like QL 94 doing 54 points of poison damage per second for 15 seconds?.........

    MA I like the idea of special new attacks named peaceful wierd poetic crap Let the Omni have the "Evil" sounding special attacks and make new ones for MA............I think you get my idea.........


    Now to balance this give Omni special weapons as well to counteract the Clan weapons only with different effects like maybe an Omni Agent Rifle that "Casts" Eye gouge and blinds the target on aimed shot.........After all those sneaky lill.....Anyways!

    Omni Soldiers with like a laser shot for burst having similar stats as the grenade capable AR for Clan soldiers only the omni Soldiers shoots off Radiation damage on burst

    And make these items to where ONLY the chosen Profession/side can use them I think it would work nicely.....You could always toos them into the people on the test servers hand throw them all into an arena and say have fun well be back in an hour......... *Shrugs and grins*

    Id also like to see cigarettes in the game off the subject ;-p

    If clans could get an armor type like omni that would do it for me really. The omni armor just looks so damn cool, and I want a clan only armor for my clanner. Can't you tweak the ones who was taken away and make them more balanced?

    I have two suggestions.

    1. The Clan population shouldn't have to belong to a guild in order to receive any type of advantage. The clan's entire belief structure is based on their desire for independence, so forcing them to belong to an organization of any type is tantamount to Omni membership anyway.

    2. The common theme for this thread seems to be attaching any sort of advantage to skill development. My suggestion would be to tie the advantage to missioning. The current system allows for bonuses through token accumulation. Perhaps this could be expanded by either making these bonusus juicier or allow more frequent bonuses for the clansman as he gains these tokens. Alternately, perhaps that as a clansman reaches his/her next title level he/she would receive greater rewards in this manner. This would eliminate any bias towards a particular profession and at the same time encourage the individual to level faster & play more often.

    Just a thought.

    I most totally disagree with the above post. He doesn't seem to understand the meaning of the word CLAN. It does not represent the disire to be individual as common myth goes. Clan is for working in teams. As we take the dictionary definition of clan:

    a body of persons united by some common interest or pursuit

    If you want to be a individual you definatly don't fit in clan. You belong as a neutral. Clan represents teamwork and TEAMS should be rewarded as such. Clan organization advantages are a good way to reward this teamwork.

    Sorry buddy but if you desire is to be independant then i suggest you join the neutral side.

    Omni get better equipment. Omni-Pol Elite is the best armor available. Thus Omni has their advantage. Clans were told they would get better skills.

    Lets see... level 200 Omni Enforcer in Omni-Pol Elite Vs. level 200 Clan Enforcer in Vitos Plasteel. Both have QL 200 implants, both have every nano in the game. Who has the advantage?

    Enough of this Omni has no advantage BS or that its not "that big of advantage. This thread is to see what the clans get and originally we were told we would have more skill. Currently we have nothing so all Omni-Tek personnel should leave this thread and quit bisching at the fact that Clan may soon get their advantage to even out the score. So far what I see in this thread is:

    Clanners discussing what they would like to see as their advantage.
    Clanners bisching about having to be in an organization for one type of advantage.
    Omni-Tek bisching that clans will finally be on an even scale with them.

    KrazyKanuck obviously needs to go back & look up the definition for the word "Adventurer" while he's at it. An Adventurer prefers solitary life in the outdoors as paraphrased from the FUNCOM manual. So I suppose that if this is the case KrazyKanuck, then all Adventurers should be Neutral?

    My point is that one should not be penalized or not afforded the same opportunity simply because he or she isn't a member of a guild. The Clan being "a body of persons united.." is a word with a broad definition. The word "Clan" could be representative of a guild or the Clan side as a whole.

    KrazyKanuck shouldn't confuse having a common interest or pursuit with having to be a member of a guild or team to do so.
    Therefore, I stick by my belief that one should not need to be a member of a guild in order to reap the benefits suggested in this thread. The Clan side espouses freedom of choice. I AM a clansman. I shouldn't be penalized simply because I am not a member of a guild.

    First off, Elite is not a whole lot better than Graft. Check the stats, it's not going to get you killed. Elite looks cooler, but that's not a great reason to play Omni. And anyone who doesn't use str/sta armor gets NOTHING from this. AND other posters have brought up the fact that if you're willing to wait a little you can get Elite anyway, as long as you don't mind losing tokens. And I have 2k HP buffed at level 66. I'm not even sure I would notice a token board.

    Better prices? Yeah, something like 10%. Wow, I can buy my yalm a day early.

    How about this: you get the ability to never change to omni. Then you get the ability to have all your armor drop off.

    Then we can talk about what the Clans get.

    Ok if that level 200 Enforcer wants to lose all of his tokens just to get into Omni armor, then switch back to Clans with armor for one his is exploiting and should be banned or made to remove his armor anyways. Number 2. That person is now in Elite armor yet minus his tokens, so he is still at a disadvantage.

    No I dont think any clanner should be in any omni only items under any circumstances. Nor do I think omni should be able to switch to clans to be able to get skill advantages... use that to level and then switch back to omni and revert to their own skills.

    Just remember... nothing has been stated as to what advantages clans will have anyways so there is no use in getting your panties in a bunch. We have no idea how or what will be implemented in fact this post is asking: "Hey whatever happened to 'clan advantage'?"

    Currently Omni have.

    1: Starting Armor - hey its not much but its more than I got.
    2: 5% discount at all stores
    3: More cash from selling junk loot.
    4: Omni only equippable items.

    It boils down to this.... Wish in one hand, take a $%#^ in the other. Tell me which one weighs more? Ya you may have crap advantages but we want equal crap! As far as I see it, people who joined Omni for an edge over other players are moaning about things becoming equal. Oh well, boohoo - it was supposed to be that way from the beginning.

    Whcih reminds me...I was in Borealis Fair Trade last night & overheard a Neutral soldier bragging to an Omni member about how he was still able to equip Omni Armor because he had it before one of the past patches which ultimately disallowed that capability.

    He WAS a Neutral & he WAS in full Omni Armor. Pardon my ignorance, but is a neutral allowed to wear Omni gear and if not, then why hasn't he lost the capabiity to wear it?

    Additionally, we keep talking about this subject without mentioning where the Neutrals fit into all of this. (BTW-I'm NOT a Neuter).

    They aren't the best type (I guess you think "I can't use it so it must be the best")

    So shut the hell up, because a stat bonus is about 100x better than this "super" bonus you guys think Omnis have. It sucks. It blows. I don't even notice it!

    I really hope Funcom realizes how fricking stupid 99% of these posts are on this thread (just "me no have, me want more more more! wah wah wah wah omni boohooo") are crappy newbies who just want to be better than the other side.

    Stat bonuses aren't even close to being equal with a tiny discount and okay armor.

    Oh, and did you forget that most clanners making big purchases use an OMni mule to get the discount? ha! fricking idiots...

    what most want is just more difference between Omni and Clan. Each side should have unique advantages which mean : no way to change your camp as a shirt (Once u leave... no way to come back!!! but u can still change a last time to the 3rd camp)

    If I summarize a bit the different views that are expressed here it's plain and obvious that CLAN needs now distinctive advantages. But these adavantages cannot not be superior to OT ones.

    OT monetary advantage and Elite do exist. They are limited but should not be discarded. They have an impact in the game. This impact is not what will make a claner loose in PvP vs. an omni, but still, ask someone if he's ready to have 5% more money and check his answer. The few people above lvl 150 that don't need money anymore are not really in the position to say if monetary advantage is good or not. Unless they remember what being lvl 80 was, when you needed to buy from players Q150 equipment and when 50k did make a difference.

    My point is : finalize OT advantages and create CLAN adavantages.

    I will try to develop these two things now...

    Some ideas where expressed an it seems that tradeskills CLAN advantages could be very interesting from both a RPG / economical point of view. And if we want to be consistent it's quite obvious that the OT monetary advantage must prevail. As a matter of fact the Star Wars analogy is very transposable to AO.

    But OT monetary advanatge cannot stand alone. Specialised armors for other profession should be added too : Elite Medical Corp. Tunics - Elite Priesthood Robes - Elite Scout Armors - Elite CEO Board Suits - etc ...

    Hence the STR/STA armors advantage will be extended to other OT divisions, inforcing by the way a dressing policy : omni will tend to look all the same as it should be in such a mega-company.

    On CLAN side, getting new armors by unique tradeskills based on scavenging monster parts, will add by opposition a lot of diversity. The CLAN tradeskills armors should not be organized in full suits, but as patchwork parts of assembled stuff collected and re-ingenered from mutants / cyborgs / exoskeletons etc ... They could also die their armors or coats to be a bit more distinctive.

    I am talking about armors because we already have the example of the OT Pol, but this can and should be applied to weapons too.

    This view of OT / CLAN advantages could be balanced by FC and be good to players :

    - OT get a bit more money and can buy / mission unique suits of divison specific armors and weapons (stop the OT stuff poping in CLAN missions please).

    - CLAN can make many different armor parts and items by investing IPs in unique tradeskills.

    I all this seems fair and well, still some decisions have to be taken so that players cannot get the best of both worlds. I think that we don't want to see someone switching side each week to creat a new rhinoman helmet, die it green and then switch to OT to get his new OT Elite Medic Corp sleeves, and switch back again to CLAN for some specific missions.

    Having a more rigid way of preventing this is unavoidable. This can be easily done by :

    - Allowing players to switch side ONCE per character. No more.

    - Preventing the use of OT armor by claners or CLAN armor by omnis, by making the guard shoot players wearing illegal stuff. Or just forbidding the use of side specific items by the other side.

    Story events as the truce we are all living now, can of course change these rules. But it's just like an IP-wipe : it's not something that will appear every month, it's a unique and very tremendous event in the life of Rubi-Ka citizens.

    Now we are talking business.

    Bottom line : when someone will create a character make him think twice at the side he will want to follow, because he will have unique advantages and because he will take a long-term allegiance.

    i've read about 100 posts that this guy puts up either on this board or ao-basher or any number of fansites.

    he's a moron.

    he typically has no point and simply just calls people names.

    1) a 3-5% money savings over a period of 100 levels is significant. additionally, Omni vendors buy back items at higher prices. go collect 3 bags of plasma...you get about an extra 5k selling to an omni store over a nuetral store, or about 3k more than selling to a clan store.

    2) omni equipment is better than guild equipment. there are specific weapons that do typical damage to non-omni equipment, however they do fire damage. fire ac is typically weaker than other ac's (remember why freedom arms were popular?). also the omni armor may not be the best at higher levels when you can wear superior quality equipment, but at low-medium levels the omni equipment is far superior than standard equipment.

    3) funcom promises. in the cybex guide before this game was released it was stated that omni would have equipment advantages, and clanners would get organizational advantages. people chose sides based on published information. this is just one of many promises that funcom has made that needs to be addressed.

    once again captain...you add nothing to this discussion. you just rant to see your name on the board.

    CaptFallout is not an idiot, he just hasnt thought this through. He like everyone else who is a declared Omni is just being selfish at this point and dont want to see clans even up the playfield.

    Omni players will flame, rant, and threaten to quit the game if Clans ever get their rebalancing. How many clanners chose clans because they wanted superior equipment, better pay, and all the perks of being a clansmen? None. Omni players enjoy elitism - flat out.

    We dont want superior crap. We want even crap. As stated previously, if 100+ levels of 5% discounts and increased returns on sold items is not an advantage then... well you never passed freshman algebra did you? Here I will break it down one last time.

    Nothing = 0 < Something

    Something > Nothing

    Nothing !> Something

    There is no balance if there is nothing to counteract whatever small advantage Omni-Tek has. However small it is, we want our equal advantage. I chose Rebels specifically because I chose not to rely on equipment, I was done with the equipment race I faced in Everquest.

    Wish in one hand, crap in the other. Tell me which one weighs more. You may have crap, we want an equal amount of crap. This is called "balance". What you OT players are ranting is that balance would be unbalancing o_0 ? I mean you have no idea what shape or form this balance would even be! Shut your pie holes until FunCom draws a more distinct outline of what will take place, this is a place for brainstorming, not putting out a fire that hasnt been lit.

    anyone who's actually looked at the stats could see that
    Graft/Flowers/Waitt is actually better overall than Elite/Nano.

    Elite/Nano has VERY low chemical AC for only very slightly better
    impact/melee.
    In PvM you get hit with chemical far more often than you get hit with energy.
    In PvP, there are many good chem-based weapons.
    (esp for the pistol users who lose the most damage against armor)

    I'm sure this wasnt always the balance.
    At release, Elite was probably totally badass.
    But, since the armor readjustment that made
    all armor types much more alike,
    (and the introduction of graft armor for str/stam users)
    the advantage of Elite doesnt really exist anymore.

    so it's hard to argue for clan skill bonuses based on Elite armor.
    If they want to 'fix' Elite and give it good chem AC too, then maybe.
    But then what about 3/4 of Omnis who dont use str/stam armor?
    If all Omnis get an omni-only armortype that really is superior,
    then I dont see a problem with clan-guilds getting thier +10 to
    weapon-skills or whatever ..

    also: the only advantages that can be considered for and against eachother are combat related ones. Clan cannot get attack skill bonuses based on Omnis getting a 1 credit discount on ammo.
    (who can afford to buy armor in stores anyway?)

    What is the total of a 5% discount on every single treatment lab, nano recharger, ammo magazine, and implant / cluster an omni personnel would spend levels 1-100?

    Who says that Omni isnt going to get new armors that are Omni only? I think we should start a flame thread right now to start *****ing about future omni advantages before anything is decided! STOP GIVING OMNI ADVANTAGES WAH WAH WAH!

    And wait...how come we can "ONLY" compare advantages in combat? Who made this rule? Are you justifying that by saying the only thing that makes this game is the combat system? Are you trying to say that cosmetic value, availability, options, and prices of armors are not determining factors?? And who ever said the stat bonuses would be purely combat oriented?

    A lot of assumptions are being made here, and a lot of appeals to ignorance.

    ... which can be made up for with just chemistry AC nano clusters instead of both imp / pro AND melee martial arts clusters... look at the slots that chemistry AC would fit as opposed to imp / proj clusters... there is a DEFINITE advantage to Elite... but this isnt just about Elite armor.

    ...what about your discount on EVERY other purchase. First Aid kits, Nano rechargers, Treatment labs, and nano crystals? I can argue that you can afford better implants than me easier. Therefore you are in fact getting +advantages to your skills through better implants. So if it boiled down to you choosing Omni-Tek convenience over Clan superior skill, tough cookies that was your choice. Accelleration vs. Top Speed. End.
