Team Boards to replace Team Channels

The problem with the chat channels that are dedicated to ppl looking for a team, is that the speaker and listener have to depend on the right timing in order to find each other. Also, chat can be lost among that from the sales channels, vicinity, etc...

How about creating a dynamic electronic bill board that lists the names of players wanting a team? These bill boards can be posted at popular meeting places and list the various ppl wanting a team or teams that have formed that are looking for more ppl. The specific meeting place can dictate the level of the ppl shown on the board. For example: in Tir, roughly three popular meeting places exist. Fair Trade for lower levels, Grid for medium levels, NW Mission Terminals, for higher levels. Put a board in each area, listing the ppl who have submitted their name or team.

Not in the area and want to know who's up for a team? Just /tell the TeamBoard Tir and it will respond with the list of ppl and teams at your level range. Or /tell it All to list info for all areas for your faction.

Once a team leaves the area, the board can automatically erase them. Once a posted player logs off, they will be erased too.

What about ppl who post themselves as being available when they are not in the area? The TeamBoard can list their status as OutOfArea, so you know who's close by and who's not.

Too gawky for the landscape? Put it in a room nearby.

I understand this might require a lot of programming, but it would help Funcom further its desire for social interaction via teams. And who knows, it just might help you find the teammates you're looking for.

Sounds great to me, just wanted to add a similar request for a trade board..

That could be done too. The volume of items for sale, tho might present a problem. Maybe they could stay on the board for a period of time before being deleted. Perhaps there could be serveral different boards for different types of items, i.e. armor, weapons, nanos.

The difference with the TeamBoard would be the appeal of furthering social goals and easing the formation of your team.
