Thread: An Interview with Simon Silverstone

  1. #21
    Commander Silverstone,

Glad to see you have remained true to form. Perhaps one day all will realize that which you, the Sentinels and the supporting clans hope to accomplish--Freedom.

    Until then, stay strong.

    Sincerely,
    Abram Kerans

    Silverstone worries me.

If his attitudes make up the majority of the clans (which from the looks of it they don't - fortunately) then RK is well and truly up the proverbial creek. (Stret River?)

I'm glad to see that there are some more liberal clanners. It gives me hope.

Hmmm, I seem to recall Midia sending an army of Medusae to attack Tir. I was helping to defend the city, I don't believe I saw a single Sentinel outside the walls. At least, there were none on the front lines.

After the defeat of her army, Midia walked into the city...granted she has ICC credentials, but from what I hear that didn't stop the sentinels from taking the city in the first place.

Now, after Midia negotiated with the Sentinels for a while, she was escorted to the whompahs. After the battle, I waited along with the clans to see what would happen. I was part of the group following to make sure she didn't cause more trouble before she reached the whompah.

Now, after this huge attack where she attempted to destroy the city and I defended, Wickham let her walk right past, singled me out of the crowd, and started shooting.

If you ask me, it doesn't look like the sentinels are there to protect the clans from anyone.

How can The Sentinels have any support at all?

Why would people support a side witch solemn goal is the destruction of other people?
Are these people what I think they are? Mindless "drones" who follow those with the most violent of all causes..... The cause to exterminate every single person on this planet that supports Omni. Oh, Im sure youll say, we dont want to exterminate you. We just want you out of this planet.
Well wake up, we own this planet. And as you say time after time..... We are not leaving.

Supporting this Silverstone puts you right into one single booth. Its like placing a sign on your chest....
I am a psychotic follower, supporting a cause in witch I will kill troopers and innocents alike.

And this may be the most subtle we have heard from Silverstone... Still, he has the same meanings, though perhaps, spoken in less direct language.

Seing the majority of Clanners not supporting The Sentinels should be a wake up call for you fanatics who still do. Wake up and see the horrors of who you have decided to stand beside.

Yes Abram Kerans... this is pointed directly at you and your likes.

The sentinels provide the only force we clanners currently have against the omni invaders and the neutral wimps.

Without them we would have a city full of dirt and filth (omni and neut).

If the sentinels are removed, tir will fall hours after.

Figure the neutral can't be such "wimps" if Sentinels are the only force that can protected you from them, no?

Your the people I fight to free myself from, someone who due to differences in opinion and views decides to run away and go to the single minded omni drones.

As to savoy, the sentinels do not protect us from a neutral threat, when they kill neut's they are simply keeping our streets clean.

    Cool heh..

As an Agent of the sentinels I was glad when Simon Took tir back from the pathetic ICC. The sentinels Protected us when we were at our weakest hour. They saved us from The ICC scum who think they control Rubi-ka. Tir is for clanners, I like some neutrals however, Tir is the home of the clans! It has become the battle front from which we lead our attacks, Simon has led the once weak clans into an age of freedom once again. I wont lay down my arms untill im perma-dead.

While inapporpriately militant and ridiculously anti-neutral, Morbicus does bring an important concern to light: what is going to happen if the peaceful clans' way of dealing with Silverstone and his people results in alienating the Sentinels and their supporters from the rest of the clans? Without any support at all from the Sentinels, the clans as they stand now will probably not be able to hold the North against Omni-Tek, Midia and the Dust Brigade, off world corporations, and so forth. There's either a lot of work or some very careful and delicate negotiations ahead of us if we're to loosen Simon's grip on Tir without risking losing Tir and more in the process.

I can not believe how soft the Clans have become, especially with Omnis taking more and more land from us each day. How can you so quickly forget how "neutrals" tried to keep us out of "their" land siding with Omni to do so.

What we need is more people like Mr Silverstone, who are ready to step up and do the work when needed instead of trying to be friends with the enemy and fencesitters. Without Sentinels and some good Clan men and women none of you wussies would have what you have now, nor would you have any hope of freedom.

It seems that everyone likes to hate simon, or just likes him. Not matter what you think the fact is, that the sentinels is the most powerful clan around, and they are the only real force under clan "control".

Is Simon insane? Most likely, yes. But do remember that it was Omni-Tek that made him insane. On the record then some Omni-Tek people seem to forget that his family was killed before he took up arms, not after.

Was it illegal to kill his family? Most likely, did OT care abou it? No, they did not, and by doing so, they have created their own worst enemy amongst the clans.

I think that many Omni-Tek hitmen want Simon dead, but that will only make matters worse as he will just be a hero for his men and their supporters. Just let him be and play monkey master in Tir. As long as he is there, then we at elast know where he is right?

For the record, the Clans maintain a huge majority of the higher end privately owned Notum mining facilities, Atlantean sector. Omni-Tek employees and Neutrals worked to restore Newland City's Neutrality in an effort that took over four months. The Clans showed up at the end to gun down Loren and then declare that they freed Newland from Omni oppression.(Huh? I could have sworn we worked on that....oh well.)

Arila, your justification for Silverstone's actions as being insane might work for him personally. But the rest of the Clanners are not insane. How can they justify allowing him to continously terrorize Neutrals and block any possible chance of co-existance with Omni-Tek?

I can follow your point, yet with the flal of the old council, then the clans lost every "role model" they had, and several then turned towards Simon, mostly blinded by hatred, just like the fanatics on the Omni-Tek side. As for the towers... WHo was it that started that little issue? That was Omni-Tek after the ICC revorked the sole rights for mining.

Of cause, none of these reasons can justify terror, so for that part i agree.

(OOC: Who knows what is in that toxic pit in Mort? Maybe they go skinny dipping there? )

The Clans missed the boat to contribute much to the Newland Guard Initative. My word of advice, do something about Silverstone in Tir or we(Omni) will have to do something about it. You're lucky I'm still busy still hunting down the Hydran corporate saboteurs.

You have no right to tell us who should and shouldnt police our city. The only way you can change that is by invading us, something im sure the ICC will look quite poorly on when your lovely little lease runs out.

If your so concerned about the neut's, give them luxury apartments in your cities, but dont tell us how we should treat them in ours

The Sentinels may choose a different path to persue our goal of freedom, but they still desire freedom from Omni-Tek as any clan. I support their goal for freedom as any clan should.

Clans also fight for freedom of choice. Since I still hold value in freedom of choice I will support whichever means the Sentinels choose to fight for our freedom, even though I may not agree with them.

Freedom from Omni-Tek and freedom of choice. Two reasons how and why the sentinels have supporters.

What I'm curious about, how can anyone not support the Sentinels? Do you not believe in freedom from Omni-Tek? Do you not believe in freedom of choice?

Find it interesting to see yet another Clanner walking about with the "We are always right !!" sign. Omni-Tek employees has a freedom of choice. Unlike what Clan propaganda says, no one is forced to work for Omni-Tek today, and even if you have signed a contract you have the choice to break that contract as long as you face up to the legal consequences of it.
