You can, but it will result of a net loss of 60 treatment to you.

It's +60 treatment to target, -120 treatment to caster.

How about a run down of the new AI perks?

Embrace includes a perk, Mistreatment, that allows a lvl 15 Doc to do a whopping 221-341 dmg every 55 seconds (my baby Doc soloed the 1st subway boss with it) and it really grows as you train more perks.

What other gems are there in the new perks?

If you look at the embrace DD, the best thing to compare it to is the Champion of Nanocombat DD.
Embrace is available from level 15, Nanocombat is available from level 70.
Embrace recharges in 55 sec, Nanocombat in 65.
Embrace is poison, Nanocombat is chemical.
Embrace runs on 50 %BM/ 50% MM, Nanocombat on AMS.
At perks 7, 8 & 9 Nanocombat does on average and minimum more damage.
At perk 10 Embrace does more damage on average (but still has a 700 pts lower min) then the unboosted Nanocombat DD.
Nanocombat can be boosted by Fuzz (perk 1 Champion of Heavy artillery for Agent/Engie/Soldier).

    Code:
    Average Damage comparison per second
level Embrace -- Nanocombat -- Nanocombat with Fuzz
    5 9.63 7.63 9.54
    6 11.23 10.95 13.69
    7 14.91 16.12 20.15
    8 18.91 28.31 35.39
    9 32.54 40.62 50.77
    10 60.65 50.01 63.85

Min damage comparison(since that is normal in SL)
level Embrace -- Nanocombat -- Nanocombat with Fuzz
    5 9.22 6.77 8.46
    6 10.51 9.60 12.00
    7 13.64 11.32 14.15
    8 17.82 22.15 27.69
    9 30.71 35.69 44.62
    10 38.89 43.08 53.85
There are other considerations to chose between the two perk lines (if you have to chose)
Nanocombat adds to both BM & MM, which gives faster access to new heals.

NanoCombat has 2 DD, one discussed above the other a 1900- 2100 fire , 105 second recharge DD with as special -20 modifier on nano damage for 35 secs on the target

    Embrace
At high levels your BM & MM skill are the same (or very close to the same) and the added MM from Embrace is useless since heals require them to be the same too.

At high levels the added -nanocost is close to useless (unless you are a nanomage doc). As a solitus doc I've got currently a -43% reduction and I need new symbiants (45% is easily doable, 47% maybe). And even then it is only interesting while you don't manage to get your hands on that new alien tradeskill armor.

Nanopool is interesting until you hit the 781 psychic. After that it'll require something like soloing a boss to even get it down to halfway (if you don't use genius 2).

Embrace has 1 DD, discussed above.
Embrace has 1 heal 120 sec recharge, that only works if the target has 20% hp left. It is currently bugged. If it works you have to be able to react fast or the target might still die in the charge time needed for perks. If you get it fast enough the extra HP added is generally enough to survive 1 attack (non crit).
Embrace has a self only HoT. Not sure if speeding up natural healing by a factor 15 is worth the loss of 400 nano/sec. For me it'd be a HoT of 163.5 HP/sec. Note that this thingie restarts after 10 seconds if your nano > 4501.

All in all if I had to chose between Embrace and Champion of Nanocombat I go for Nanocombat.

Of note... Mistreatement is resisted... alot more often than you'd think... at higher levels.

There are some other non-sticky, non-guide posts to AI perks in here.

Basically what they boil down to is - because it's +100 to nanoskills and because the perk specials in embrace aren't really that great, nanocombat is a better perkline for most doctors. Embrace gets its value after you are extra high level and have nanocombat maxed, and are wearing gear with an imbalance between its BM and MM bonuses.

In that situation, embrace's MM bonus will make up for the lack of MM gear in the game.

The reason the Nanocombat one doesn't get resisted is that the AMS attacks are bugged for some reason. They will land every single time. When that is fixed expect the Nanocombat one to be resisted even more (at higher levels)

in defense of embrace...i'm level 23, been using it since level 15, and for me, it's an uber spell...
sure, some mobs will resist, but the majority of them get pummelled...and it helps a lot when you are solo'ing or in a small team...

also of note, is that i am too low for nano combat perk line, and i think my only other alternative was one of the alien ability raising perks...which only raise 3 stats by 1 point...i'll take the DD perk...

Ie, if you cast a 10k CH on someone who has this perk running, it will only heal 3k hitpoints. The duration of the debuff is 35 seconds.
Just a little comment here. Heal % mods work on the originating user, not the target. Meaning you'd have to use the perk on the person casting the CH, not the target of it (usually the same person in pvp). MP also nerfs heal perks as well (keepers, docs, MAs, etc) - it's actually quite useful for pvp. =^)

    Little tip.

If you are in doubt what to spend perk point on, save it till next perk-ding. Or you can use it on Enhance DNA (or Genious 3 if you havent maxed this) so you can get closer to 780 Psychic. (2 second nano delta(read "Concerning NanoDelta thread if you dont know what nanodelta is..(can find it under letah's sticky thread)))
