Thread: PvP in 2ho detroys this game

  1. #41
The strategy will come into play when we have teams vs team PvP. As to the question, Is PvP balanced right now?

How many Fixers do you see PvPing?

  2. #42
My fixer PvP's whenever he can. Nevermind that he hasnt won a single fight yet.

  3. #43
Hmm. I think pvp is going to almost always be about what it is. Team PVP is a myth, kind of like the words "Story-line".

I see 2 rookie fixers and one novice fixer and a bunch of freshman fixers. Again, smart ones do well. Fixers have several advantages that if they put to work they can do well. If you play a fixer you don't stand toe to toe with enforcers to get your title =].

    Cast your hots

    Root em

run to 40m and shoot them

    root em

run to 40m and shoot them

    run out of nano

    zone into a building, recharge

    zone out

    root em

run to 40m and shoot em

and then after a while they die.

Fixers are a hard class to play but not an awful class to play. To be honest I see more level 30-70 fixers PVPin than i do soldiers.

Sub 150 soldiers are nightmare to pvp with. If you are a fixer let me tell you how to kill him. Scare him enough to use his mk then root him and get out of range. wait 25-30 seconds and move into range. keep re-rooting him. he can't break roots with nanos because his ncu is locked for 2 min. Plenty of time to keep rooting him and moving out of his range. Fixers are up there in range with NTs and Agents. You can add the range extenders much cheeper than soldiers do. Most soldiers don't have the IP to blow on perception and the trade skill req. Most soldier's guns don't have much range either. Novas are 20m I think.

Soldiers at lower levels are totall PVP fodder. If you can get em to use their mk they are total root bait and they have no heals.

Talking PvP in general and in 2ho

I haven't been to 2ho that much(for obvious reasons) I've only gridded in there twice actually, once hoping to sneak through real fast and onto my mission(was attacked before I saw where I was,, 15 seconds.. Right) Wich was cool.. Because I actually killed the doc of that full team before I died of a dot.

Second time I went in for one purpose - killing.

Now MMD might be alright for duelling.. But it's a completely different athmosphere. People ganking and griefing and whatever the terms for dishonourable fighting are in mmd are almost looked down on by the general players there.. It is an arena really. Only clanners can't fight eachother. Sure people gank and behave ****tily there too, but not near the carnage that is 2ho, wich leads me back to my original point *ahem*

2ho is nasty, don't expect any honor. Don't ask for permission before attacking. It's just get in, and attack the first thing you can target. Hopefully you have some mates running around taking up some attention too. One enforcer fell to my nova before 2 130(I'm 80) MA's came up and killed me swiftly.. But that's just the way it is in a warzone.. Poetry. 2ho isn't an arena. It's omni killing clanners by whatever means possible, and clanners doing the same. That's the beauty I found in it. No I wont go in there for a while again unless some guild are invading and need backup.. But I will go there again when I want PvP and not "/tell Mr I'mnotevenwearingatanksoldierwiththelamestlookings quibbler U wanna duel ?"

See the point? Don't go to 2ho and expect courtesy from those you are attacking. The amnesty is but a distant little bug in 2ho

Theese are my subjective views, attempting objectum. But I've never gridcamped or pulled anything but my own gun on someone.

the second point. It would be fun with more real PvP, involving everyone and not only those twinking for titles. One way - Since FC isn't really focusing on the war right now, would be to check deeper into the cyborg issue. Making a cyborg pickable race for players, unaffected by gas, but aggied upon by omni, clan and neutral guards whenever in range. the outpost attacks also sound good.. Like claiming an outpost for your clan, giving bonus items in shops there, cheaper prices, morale boost(Like higher nano resist perhaps in game mechanics) Sounds cool. More duelling and more PvP. Don't whine about it, play it for what it is, with whatever honor you may have.

My last point *wipes his brow* Is something raised about crats kicking soldiers.. I've said this in another forum, or thread.

An office worker does not beat someone who has trained all his life with weapons 1-1. It should not happen if both have equal skill and gear. But everyone should have an important role to fill in a group(more than just a team) where everyone fills an important part to boost the power and soon glory of said group.

Crats are more than office workers. All of the classes in AO are assumed to be specialists in the art of war. A soldier is the basic gun toting soldier. A crat is specialized in PR bull****.

Meta's are just astrologist/cosmologist/philosophers I should be able to beat them with my MA right?

Traders are just shopkeepers I should be able to-
    *BLAM BLAM* dead.

MA's are masters of close combat they should kick my ass up close. But do they? Nahhh.

Agents should be able to kill anything in one shot, but can they? NO, and we'll never hear the end of it. *snicker*

personally I think crats should own all classes.

Let me put it to you like this: ever mess with anyone at the DMV? I thought not. How about postal workers? What would scare you more, a drunken 18 year old regular army guy or a seasoned postal worker running amok in your house? Of course the postal worker is a far more scary visage.

So what, you carry around a big hammer. Every mechanic I know can swing a torq wrench around, but it takes a truly messed up psyche to be a postal worker or a DMV employee. No one can stand up to that elemental force.

Balanced classes(How did this get here?)

I think people mistake 'being a good class for PvP' with 'being a good class to twink.' Yes perhaps it's the same at low levels.. But some have higher ambitions.

why dont we just get rid of the gas, and to prevent grid camping everywhere have an obscene amount of guards ( nerutals?) there
im sick of trying to go pvp for kicks and getting gang raped...2 secs after my amazing 15 secs are up. we really should NOT be safe outside of a city or outpost... its suposto be a war, and such, supression gas is silly.. yes we need a story but we didnt sigh up to run missions till lvl 200

You wont lose to a crat 1v1 if the crat has no pet.

If you do, then a GOOD soldier wont.

Which is why he has the aide - Balance.
