Dungeon key dispensers sound like a really good idea.

OH SO TRUE BIO!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm level 149 and I have yet to see 90% of the unique mobs.. and I know exactly where they spawn... The current AO system does not reward anyone for completing a challenge... it rewards them for having the most time free to sit in one spot and wait for a mob to spawn or to learn spawn rates so that they can get 3 shades of lubication...
Come on FUNCOM... so many people want to get shades and you have someone on the shopping forum saying he has three...
Right now the main thing that will lead to my retirement is not being able to fight tarasque and any and all other uniques...

I don't think anyone from funcom is paying attetion anymore...I believe both moderators have completely stopped doing their jobs as there have been no responses to any posts or moderating of bad posts.
I also have tried many different ways to contact Funcom to no avail...that is getting SO annoying....no word, no response, no anything.
someone needs to get freakin fired

Excellent, well thought out idea Trigger. And you're right it seems VERY easy to implement. I sincerely hope FC doesnt pull their standard procedure of 'If we ignore it long enough, it will go away'
Again, excellent feedback Trigger, and I hope it doesnt fall on FC's increasingly deaf CS ears.
BUMP!
ok i'm a low level character, level 63 fixer right now.
so i havenbt done any static dungeons yet, but i'm sure i will soon, at first they sound fun! but man would that be annoying if they are the way you say they are. I'd like my static dungeon expirience to be fun and enjoyable when i finally do get around to doing them.
Good post trigger, very well thought out.
i've heard about the camping in EQ, never played that game. it sounded stupid wit hall the camping, low level restriction and hard time finding a group.

FC, please never fall on the dark camping side, the only winners here are the guys who are able to sit for long doing nothing and/or are able to zerg the target just in order to get that "Faded A... H... implant that make you feel better when time come to go toilets" then come back to camp the "Bright double A.. H... implant" that allow some time saving in toilets in order to camp the "Shining triple A... H... with funny lights improvements" that make you so special when you bend over in the dark.
Do you realy think your player base is like that ? So you are toasted, because another game is mastering camping as the only way of play and you are going to loose players fast sticking this way.
Well, everyone might want a faded A.H. implant one day. You know, insurance terminal sometimes rebuilt you in unexpected ways...
I prefer dieing under an enemy blast intead of exploding waiting too long for the guy who drop the implant to show up...

You manage the rarity of items by the difficulty to get them. NOT by making the game UNFun to play. NOBODY has an ounce of respect for anybody who has 'The Black Shirt of Kudzawa' for example. These people are either thought of as campers, twinks, or kill-stealers. It should not be this way. Having a rare item should mean you spent some effort to obtain the item. You should be proud to display the item. Not ashamed of the anti-social behavior that is now needed to get these things.
As an example, if there were some new item that went in an NCU slot that increased the duration of NanoFormulas by 50% they could simply put it on a MOB with a 24hr respawn time. This is frigging garbage design that a half-assed child would think of.
Instead, they could be intelligent and allow access to the item to anyone who is willing to spend some time PLAYING the game.
1. Talk to NPC Computer Merchant. He mentions an 'associate' who has told him of rumors of a shipment of prototype computer hardware. He asks if you would go talk to him in person. You get a mission token. He does NOT despawn after talking to you.
2. The person he is referring to can be any one of 15 different NPC's in various location. Tons of people will not be camping the same exact 2nd NPC. Your first task is to go search out his buddy in one of 5 or 6 locations. This spreads out the player base a bit and helps foster the (re)discovery of areas like Freedom, Bliss, Hope, etc. Depending on the quest level, the trip to get there can be difficult and you may need an escort to get there. Maybe it's a Nanofreek in Avalon or The Longest Road.
3. You manage to locate the person and talk to him about 'unauthorized' 'shipment' 'computer' 'hardware'. He asks who sent you and you give the name.
4. He acknowledges that he's got some unmaked receptacles called 'Prototype NCU Components' but he can't manage to break them open. He offers to sell you one on an 'as-is' basis. You agree and pay a hefty fee. This NPC doesn NOT despawn after giving you the item. This means you have to have spent some time earning money (or just as reasonably have some friends to help you). You now have a sealed receptacle and don't know what is inside.
5. The receptacle requires an amount of Breaking and Entering between 250-550 depending on what's inside. You need to have or find a player with the appropriate skills to break it open. This fosters interaction between players.
6. Once opened you are revealed maybe one of 2 or 3 different items of various quality levels. You happen to get a 'Precharged Bio-enhanced NCU-Bloodstream Interface' of qlvl 108. This is the item we'll focus on for this discussion. There might be two or so other items that may appear. The info for the item says:

Dude... this is great.. make some more quest
I totaly agree with Trigger on all of this... I just went through the foreman quest with My guildmates and the main mob was camped.... I didnt get to see him.. let alone fight him... I also like the 0% zone idea around outdoor boss mob spawns.... I think that having random spawn points.. letting them wander with a 0% gas surrounding it would be a good solution..... Im all for this... And make what camped loot that isnt no-drop no-drop.... that wuold stop alot of camping in itself....
Although I hate to admit it, I played EQ for 2 years. Although I had a high lvl char, and was in several guilds high enough to take the high end mobs, I never got to see alot of the high end game.
No matter what time I was on, everything was always camped for the most part.
With that said.......BUMP
/me thinks this should be implemented ASAP, as it would greatly enhance gameplay for alot of people
This is my last bump of the night.... Don't worry folks... ill be back tomorrow.... round noon time... peace out...
