Thread: Game Enhancement , ideas.

    Lightbulb Game Enhancement , ideas.

    I have some ideas of enhancements of the gameplay and character.

    1. Web browser in AO , a standard web browser start equip for all , with this you can surf to check the news on Rubi-Ka instead of actually have to check the sites to check whats going on , latest news can be directly posted and you can even get a little blinking sign to show when your favorite page is updated, maybe have info about guilds in AO , reports about new discoverys , maybe someone can actually be an reporter and ask players in the game about comming events , make it feel more interactive for players , and a joy for roleplayers. Maybe some player can be reporter like an ARK , so hire a couple of journalist to follow events , a dungeon crawl a fight at the outpost , e.t.c .
    And for you to read when you log in to follow latest events.

    The idea can be developed alot.

    2.What about enhanced information about animals monsters in the wild , i been reading about it in another thread to make Adventures discover new ground , i would like Avd class to be able to make a record over animals , say if they kill enough monsters they will gain a certain knowledge that can be documented and filed , this document can then also be copyed and sold by the adventure , and make it use req so you divide monsters in to classes , maybe class 1 all monsters between 1-10 class 2 monsters between 11-20 and so on , and have a syncronise option so you can check now and then for new updates , so then in the wild you can right click monsters for infomation.


    3. Voice commands, how hard can it be to implent ?? Pet attack , healpet heal target... e.t.c nuke blabla initiate and more , would greatly enhance gameplay and make it easyer , also for people with slight handicap to be able to enjoy AO . I mean i have voice command on my celluar phone

    4. To be able to change size of backpack inventory bank e.t.c , or atleast increase size .

    5. I would like to be able to have a permanent status bar on my pet , like the one i get when i target my pet but that it will stay there , so i know when to ru i mean heal him Also make it easyer for me to heal team members , instead of having team screen taking space , also to allways have a health bar on the one i'm attacking up , or the one attacking me...
    Maybe just left click and drag a player to get there health bar up.

    5. Enhanced chat combat text... when in combat the chat screen will be divided into 2 one the normal chat , and 2 the combat screen which shows all the people hitting damage taken e.t.c to make it alot easyer to follow.

    6. What is a NT if not a specialist in nano and technic , so maybe let the NT be able to write programs of diffrent permeters , to let them design them of there own and others choice , maybe someone wantsa team heal nano , let the NT do it and sell it... let it have 1 charge one time nanos , so the NT can write programs on demand , maybe a one time nuke , a heal , all depending what it is how hard it will be in skill...

    7. A new vision tool to let people be able to check range on target... Also a tool to be able to zoom in ... nice to check the battle field out.

    8 . Let 1 class maybe NT as well be able to hack into a sattelite and be able to do a surface check , great tool before an attack is laushed , maybe just show red infrared dots , but be able to check into diffrent zones and to steer over them in topografic view.

    9. Random monster char , to be able to be a monster and maybe give people a new sense of gameplay , no communication can be made , but give the players a set of choices depending on what monsters they play , sat a nanoprogrammer would get a couple of nanos to choose from and so on , and each time you die , you automaticly reborn as a new monster somewhere else. in a diffrent zone .

    Maybe as a monster you have a certain channel to speak to others who play as you, but no contact what so ever exept that.

    10 . Citys in the sky anyone?? I would like that and ofcourse you fly there

    11. Enhanced arenas , where people can sign up born champions , make bets... have ladders and of course makeplace for audience so people can get a good look , let the match start and close the doors , where the champ get a special title , depending on level of char

    I really like the Sky town idea.

    One idea I'd wish to see implemented is a single contact/network thing for every class.

    _Fixers would have access to 'underground' areas and some crime contacts;
    _Bureaucrats could use the power of his corporation to a certain degree and have corporate figures as contacts;
    _Soldiers well... they could have a group/army at their command and such;
    _Adventurers could have ties with the 'forces of Nature' and have knowledge of mazy natural sites;
    _MP would have ties with mystical forces;
    _Agents are acquainted with information and have spy friends; they are informed - as a side note fixers could buy those informations and then sell it to someone who wants the info... Try to link every network/contact profession to each other?
    _Engineers would be aware of technological progress etc (I have more or less ideas for each profession; didnt take too much time to think on all of them);
    _Traders? You know what network they'd be in...
    _MA's could have insights in secret existing sects as well as belonging in some traditional organisations (Samurai/Ninja things etc)
    _Enforcers would be tied with mercenaries; they could have as well as ppl hiring for good or ill, law or crime whatever... things like that;
    _NT's well... hmmm science network? different than what engy's could have though;
    _Doctors knowledge in biological experiences...

    The other idea: create a branch of SOCIAL skills. Subterfuge, persuasion, etc.

    I'd love to see that network thing happen because it will force the players to interact even more between each other, and every class would have a new strength each beyond the individual powers... And I think it would be very beneficial for the storyline; this would increase some roleplay even if those 'contacts' could be NPC's etc. Well you see where I am trying to get at dontcha

    Exclamation Doh I forgot... one thing...

    The better your profession title, the higher you could reach up to big contacts and deeper in your network - as you get your character lvling up, you get more involved in the story... and the higher your token board is, the more privileges you'll have; you get the idea.

    Some of those things may be considered minor, or "unimporant"...

    But its the little things like those that make up a games personality and show that they put alot of efffort into making the game.

    One of my biggest reproaches in this game - well at least one of the first ones - was the mission BOOTH. It just kills everything! When I saw that, I thought to myself: "we just people stuck within the mission machine monster?" hmmm... I was sad to see that because next to it I saw a panel saying "Clans your future you decide" me sad sad sad!

    I agree i can say with my lev39 mp i havent completed one mission ! Mainly cause my pet got stuck and also cause i dont like to be in small rooms I like big open areas , with ocasiannly some dung to crawl perhaps but i wait till pet pathing and commands work better , its not fun to go and see your pet is gone hehe...

    No i say up with more simple or advanced game ideas to improve AO not allways more power more heal more damage to all classes.

    Put a tag on some classes saying this class might not be the best in pvp or pvm but is easyer to play , or good for another reason , like tradeskill...if only you could gain good xp being a trader so u dont have to fight fo r your xp im not using any tradeskill my self but understand the dilemma.....

    oh, i'd like to see my coordinates displayed permanently in the hud, would make navigation a bit easiert and you don't have to press f9 all the time

    I was wondering if they could create a 'coordinates notepad'?

    First for bad memory and second it would sort of work like the flag mission on the big map. You punch in the numbers and the name of the area - or wait to be in that area and then confirm. Whenever you open the notepad then, the coordinates show up, and when you click on it, it shows a cross on the map. That would be really neat. Plus, they could add (when you are in the correct area) an indicator on the compass but a different color than yellow since missions use that one. Really handy feature I'd say!

    Cordinates

    What about be able to tap in you cord and it show a mark like when you are in the correct mission area , so you know where to walk , can't be more simple and you dont have to press those damn cord buttons all the time....
    Also being able to have a cord library you can write some small info about where they are and so.

    Those are some great ideas!!
    That just made me think... EQ and UO are getting all these expansion packs...

    AO expansion pack anyone? It could incorporate some of the ideas like those in this thread.

    Good ideas... I especially like the NT suggestions

    As for voice commands... already possible... I use a GameVoice to trigger macros...

    Might as well throw in my suggestion again... vanished in the flood 3 times now I think :

    Mail Service !

    The ability send / receive packages / money without meeting in person.

    I dont mean this to replace personal contact...by no means... but frequently the person you want to give to / trade with is offline, in a very inconvenient timezone, deep in a mission somewhere etc...

    Maybe even implement mail order... send a package with a price tag... if the recipient pays the price, he gets it, if not its returned to you.

    And probably extend the /ignore function to deal with the jokers who wish to send you 1 bullet for 1 mill creds

    Only Yalmaha owners and some Flying classes could get there.

    would be Neutral and owned by either Demons or Angels. Could do both maybe

    Stuff sold there is unique and the missions are all Sky Missions.

    oh that would rock !

    I wished that Sneak Attack gets to be more rewarding than Aim Shot too... You sink the blade in the target and (creepy I know) u get to twist things inside. A well-placed bullet only gets to pierce through. I hope you see what I mean... Besides it's much harder to place a Sneak Attack than an Aim Shot, it needs to be more rewarding. Some form of stun damage, maybe?

    Another I'd love to see happen would be animals you could ride. You 'fight' with your adventure skill to be able to mount it. Of course, they would be powerful rides to use because you wouldn't be able to put them in your backpack... Some animals would be more docile, some others more calm in times they get attacked... Whenever you would leave your ride, there would be chances it leaves or attempts to if it is attached - or helped by a player or even maybe some mob having sympathy for them... Stuff like that. They would need to have special abilities because they would be easy to use, except a few 'average' ones you could rely upon that would be as good as some vehicles. That way we wouldn't always see Yalms or Kodaiks around... Anyways! Just another wild idea to offer

    Mail Order?

    I love your idea about mail order, Seid. I've had similar thoughts myself.

    Perhaps the way to implement it is along the lines of a "delivery warehouse" since there would need to be a new trade-interface added to the game I think. All the General stores have had that "shop-of-fortune' added so that seems like the logical location. You deposit your item along with the recepient's name and the required price (COD, right?). When the item is claimed your account is creditted.

    Since I'm sure there would need to be some limit on how long the server maintains a record of the deposit, at the end of a set period (perhaps a week? or determined by item QL?) if it has NOT been claimed, you are credited with what you would have gotten selling to a standard vendor/machine. Or perhaps you are given the option of going and REclaiming it yourself.

    The machine when accessed could give a list of items you had deposited, and items deposited for you, waiting to be claimed along with the credit cost. Perhaps the price to retrieve an item before the potetial buyer does, or the 'holding' time expires, could be set equal to its sale price to a vendor This would prevent truly rare items from being destroyed due to careless commitments, but prevent the warehouse from becoming simply a way to extend your bank size.

    It would take some work to implement, but simply adding a new type of machine seems much simpler than many of Funcom's other projects. And its potential benefit is enormous.

    Sounds like a great idea , also to be used over shopping channel , so you may actually never see the person you buy thing of.... very nice
