Is cocoon bugged?

I fought zereke (220 engi) 1on1 self buffed today.

I had it all planned out.

1. Use tank to absorb alpha.
2. Hit him with max regular damage so he uses cocoon. (MoR+chalanger)
3. After that equip weap (as/af/fling/burst) for his blockers.
4. Hit cocoon @ 25% hp and heal up with perks+mongo.
5. Equip sword back and let him taste my alpha.

Now this happend

Zereke hit you for 778 points of Fling Shot damage.
You absorbed 54 points of fire damage.
Your damage shield hit Zereke for 374 points of damage.
You absorbed 1223 points of melee damage.
Your damage shield hit Zereke for 374 points of damage.
You absorbed 1310 points of melee damage.
You absorbed 54 points of fire damage.
Your damage shield hit Zereke for 379 points of damage.
You absorbed 778 points of radiation damage.
Someone's reflect shield hit you for 86 points of damage.
Someone's damage shield hit you for 263 points of damage.
Your damage shield hit Zereke for 374 points of damage.
Zereke hit you for 1162 points of melee damage.


THAT was my cocoon... so @ 25% I used cocoon switched to pistol and used regrowth+first aid+rejuv on myself and used pistol alpha.. found myself at reclaim with pistol in hand.. kinda suxed.

anyone else had problems with this?

maybe he landed peel layers on you?

I discussed it with him and he didnt mention it.. we both were very suprised :)

Im not sure if its related but I died last night in an inf hard mission. I got to 25% health and cocooned... got chain critted 6 times in a row for 3500... everytime it was melee damage. I never die in missions so it raised my eyebrows. I always remembered the mobs in missions to change dmg types from hit to hit too, maybe I'm wrong :)

If you use coccoon without cancelling the absorb from the foreman tank first it will still execute and lock for 2 minutes, but you won't get the absorb buff. Could that be it?

That's exactly what I was gonna say. Gotta cancel or remove the tank absorb buff before firing off Bio Cocoon

u might have died from dmg shield, or atleast had ur hp lowerd so that last hit would get u, also have to think about the pets that are hitting ur, if they all do the same dmg type well ur ****ed

I once fought locol and my cocoon got off fine, got the message and all, but no effect in NCU, he kept doing dmg like usual, only happened to me once though out in Mort.

how long has it been like that? that sounds like a bug to me. cocoon should cancel the assault tank absorb IMO.

Been like that since I got the assault tank I think, so 15ish months atleast :)

does BC absorb or Tank armor absorb also bug with IS absorb flesh?

I can confirm that on some occasions cocoon perk would run and lock but the absorb shield won't appear in the ncu. This does not happen very often, maybe every 40-50 cocoon perks but it does happen and can cost enfo a life if used as a last resort.
I don't use foreman's or IS absorb but think this is connected with execution of other perks.
When in trouble I hit lots of perks at the same time and that's when cocoon seems to be more likely to fail from my experience.
Would be quite hard to test, but this 'issue' can be proven to exist if you find something of the kind in the logs:

You successfully perform Bio Cocoon
-followed by-
Foo hit you for <lots> points of <type> damage.
Foo hit you for <lots> points of <type> damage.
Foo hit you for <lots> points of <type> damage.
Note: hits go through and are not absorbed as they should be.

I'll double check just to make sure and post my results

*EDIT*

I had both the tank absorb and the cocoon absorb in my NCU but I never got a chance to test it for absorbing...so I need to wait another 40 minutes ;p

well Ive had assault tank and IS absorb for that time aswell :)
was first time it happend to me.. think its because I was dropping fast (220 widow, 219 doggy and ASing engi hurt ;)) so guess I used it too fast.. would be nice if FC would fix it :)

edit:

btw I retested cocoon on the engi and I was 30 sec safe as normal.. so cocoon really wasnt working but it DID grey out.
