Cz's Guide to Superior Soloing
Shevaya asked that I make a guide concerning my method of soloing since I have great success in that area in inferno and a different technique from hers. So here it is:
First off, my guide is intended for a level 216+ crat soloing in Inferno using 'The Voice of One'... with the right implementation a crat can solo pretty much every mob in inferno and I'm here to explain how to do it with a high success rate and with minimal luck required.
OK... There are three different encounters you will find in Inferno at these levels. I'll divide them into groups:
1) 210 Bosses (Spirits, Spirit Hunters)
2) Dragons
3) 230 Bosses
4) Nyame/Asase Ya Bosses
The approach to all of these are the same but the key difference is how much you as the crat can do.
1) 210 Bosses: feel free to go all out... nukes, shooting, pets (I seldom find a need to debuff)
2) Dragons: Remain lax, these mobs tend to hit a bit and love to use their god given nukes. Debuff them to the hilt. Start working in on damage when the mob gets lower on health.
3) 230 Bosses: Sit back, relax, let the pets do all the work... debuff them to the hilt
4) Nyame/Asase Ya Bosses: Be Ready to perk and heal, don't attack, don't let debuffs run out on boss. Let pets do all the work but keep a close eye on their health bars.
Now to get onto the meat of the issue
Debuffs that you should be ready to run are:
Improved Red Tape
Malaise of Passion
combined you will receive a debuff of:
-813 to all initiatives
-68 to damage
with the potential for further debuffs on improved red tape, but those are the critical needs.
Buffing Pets is Crucial to easy soloing:
Pets should receive the following buffs and I suggest not deviate much from the pet combos I'm about to give you as they have their benefits:
Pet#1 Asase Child / Notum Scourge (consider this your personal Enforcer)
This pet does high damage and has very high hit points, but his ability to fetch aggro isn't the best (so he's an enforcer with no taunts =p)
Improved Cut Red Tape
Composite Physical Special Expertise (8 hours)
Weapon Enhancement
Motivational Speech: Heroic Measures
Pet#2 Eremite / Cosset
This Pet does good damage, but has an amazing ability to pull aggro
DO NOT RUN BUFFS ON THIS PET, HIS AGGRESSIVENESS IS ALREADY TOO HIGH AND NEEDS TO BE TONED DOWN... this will help him survive the battles against the toughest mobs
Pet#3 The Corporate Guardian
Improved Cut Red Tape
Composite Physical Special Expertise (8 hours)
Weapon Enhancement
Gallant Hero: The Vengeful Butler
One of the biggest things to remember is to stand in a location where your Heroic Measures ONLY buffs the Notum Scourge / Asase's Child. Those two need as much help as they can get in fetching aggro and I've found the Heroic Measures is the best balance.
Preparing for the attack:
-Calm Minions DON'T run in Suicide Style.. I go suicide style on the Spirits and Spirit Hunters though, cause nothing there can touch me (I hope you all already know this)
-Buff yourself with Heroic Measures, Improved CUt Red Tape
(Other outside buffs always benefit, but if it's 'soloing' you want, you don't want to be having to find 5+ professions to buff you everytime you want to go 'solo')
-Cast a back up Corporate Guardian (they like to die, so you will be casting these alot during the fight, but it's good that they are pulling aggro rather than you... it's the key to soloing mobs that can hit for 1500-6000 a hit.
Attacking:
Make sure Pets are under full Charms and Fully Buffed as above (21min+ on Notum Scourge, fresh ShortCharm on Eremite)
Send in pets first and allow them to get initial aggro
Follow with Malaise of Passion
Follow with Improved Red Tape
KEYS TO THE ATTACK
- If Eremite ever gets below half health, put it on follow...
- If Scourge/Asase's Child ever gets below 25% health put it on follow...
- Be ready to cast and recast Robot pets and Rebuff them.
- If Robot pet is below 50% health and there is under 30 seconds on Eremite Charm, Terminate Just the Corporate Guardian and get a backup out fast to tank while you recharm the eremite. Buff it to the hilt.
- When there is under 15 Seconds on the Short Term Charm use your perk 'puppeteer' on the Corporate Guardian to ensure he takes over til the eremite is ready to go again.
- NEVER RUN
- Watch for Adds
- Don't let debuffs wear off of the boss mobs
TIPS AND TRICKS:
- For Asase and Nyame Bosses use Radiation or Fire Reflect Bracer instead of Any other type....
- Here's what I solo in and there's plenty of room to improve on my setup: Czarina Armor
- Here's the main perks I feel are necessary for high success rate: PERKS
Using these basic principals, I can go get a cup of coffee while I solo the 255 Incarnator... (if I have a back-up bot ready, and time on the short term charm)
These allow me to Solo the Asase Ya Bosses with a 100% success rate, none have ever killed me
These allow me to Solo the Nyame Bosses with a 90% success rate
These allow me to Solo the 255 Incarnator Bosses (Ithaki, Crete, Spetses, etc) with a 100% success Rate
I've solo'd everything in Inferno besides the Bigot mobs using the above.
