Heya :) Yeah I'm ok RK1, so it must be you.
*Jots down Puzzytehcrat's name as the Remod Crat*

Usually, I try to read to the end of a thread before posting, but this one was hillarious. With the speed with which people can level these days, it is easy to see that the professions that are most rolled, and most played, are the best, either at PvP or PvM. Why do we see so many Soldiers running around? Because they are in the top 3 damage dealing professions (shade/ma/soldier) and easily one of the top PvP professions. What Sterva is asking for is to not have to make a TOTAL choice between PvP/PvM.
Lets compare a Soldier to a Crat. In PvM you have two good choices - Pistol+RE or Assault Rifle. Now, do either of those lines have viable PvP weapons in them, easily obtainable and useable? EC3 and DShark, giving you access to the two best PvP special attacks in the game, at the capped rate. Now, in PvM as a crat you have access to good Pistols, but PvP you are using a weapon with 1 (yes, one) minimum damage. Crats don't have the IP to raise Pistol/Burst/Fling/MR/Bow/AS and still raise their important prof-specific skills. Even if they did, since crats need to use custom imps instead of symbs (since we don't have access to symbs that give huge amounts of weapon-skills and AR, along with all relevant nanoskills - like you do), we cannot swap between weapon options like you can.
Now, about how support profs make the game unplayable. You're retarded. You play by far the most overplayed profession in the game, and a profession that does well in full ofab and a easily obtained weapon. The number of soldiers swarming around the BS flinging off FAs 5 times per minute is rediculous, compared to the NT/Crat I see once in a blue moon, or the doc just running around hoping to get his VP to go raid PvM content. Sure, there's Avari or Rolfor there every once in a while, and you get UBT'd but does that stop your specials or perks? Nope! You're actually WAY less affected by init debuffs than almost any other profession (not counting keepers, who are a totally different story) because your offense doesn't really rely on Inits in PvP. Surrrrrrpppprriiissee! You're a tool. You have HUGE damage in PvP and PvM, and the fact that you can still whine and moan about the 3 professions that can get through AMS (which are, by far, 3 of the least commonly played professions in the game - NT/Trader/Engi. And guess why they're uncommon...)
And even the noobiest soldiers can cap FA on me, as long as dodge the blame isn't up, and that lasts all of what, 18 seconds? So my only defense, which is easily defeatable by anybody with AS/Sneak+Dimach/Nanodamage/MR (way more than three profs), lasts what, 10% of yours. Soldiers need to go back into the corner and STFU. Oh wait, there's so many of them, because they're so wildly easy to play, with similar setups in pvm and pvp, that they don't fit into the corner anymore.
I'm like fly paper. Except exchange flies for the dumbest trolls in AO. lol.
Anyways, all of you arguing about whether or not an AS pistol is OP or not, you are all effing retarded. In my OP I clearly said:
If you think an AS pistol is OP, good for you, I don't give a flying **** really, but I've left another option open, which apparently none of you actually read or comprehended. If FC devs agree that an AS pistol is OP, then there's always some alternative that doesn't involve AS.
And honestly, I think most crats would rather be able to untrain aimed shot in exchange for a 100% pvp proc like remod, or special access to a good nuke, like doctors get with dots and pistols.
Actualy, I agree with Sterva on this one.
P.S.
Whatever comes out of it, it has to be 200% more effective if used against NTs.
You definetly know what we're worshiping. I have AS poster, AS statue, AS pillows and I always take with me AS amulet.
I'd give away my current AS weapon for supported option, which works ~80% current effectivenes.
QFT!
Sometimes even Klod comes with good ideas
Are you the guys who still can't pvp with 15+ second unremovable stuns ?
Now that s a friggin damn good idea!
Add the 100% remod proc to crat dread gun!
Not only pvm would be a bit better, which would help after the stun proc nerf, but it'd also help us in pvp to upp our ar a bit and pets ar too(which constantly is getting lower with all the def stuff getting added and no pets ar getting changed).
No. It doesn't even have to be equally as good as AS, it could probably be slightly less good as AS, and most people would still switch.
There is a tremendous amount of motivation for switching to a pistol alternative, if it can at least compete with AS, because it's a better way to spend our IP, perks, and we can do pvm damage.
So basically, your reasoning is just wrong. If a pistol came out that was near equally as good to using an AS weapon, even if the pistol didn't have AS, most all crats would switch to it fairly quickly.
Don't you think 100% chance is a bit too high? :)
25% would be more like it, with some 10 sec duration and no AS weapon allowed at the same time ofc (i.e. must use two dread pistols, like docs have to, for their DoT).
Or maybe craphander allowed (dunno, you lose 25% from other gun so it's kinda cool).
But again, you proly ain't gonna like it 'cos of proc nature (I would, if I had reasonably high AR with my weapon).
I mean, it would depend on the effect of the weapon.
If it did a damage proc, and the damage was similar to an AS, it would have to proc about as often as an 11 second AS recharge. If the damage was less than AS, it would have to proc more often than 11 seconds, if it was greater than AS, it would have to proc less often than 11 seconds.
If it gave us access to a special nuke or debuff, then there would be no proc involved at all.
If it was an evade debuff, it would have to be 100% for it to be worth it, and it would have to be a big evade debuff like the remod.
You get the idea...
