They bugged the Enforcer Rage line of spells during that last patch....are they NOT going to fix it? I thought it would have been thrown in a quick fix patch.....this is ridiculous.
RAGE IS BROKEN.....FC broke it with patch 13.8
Test it please. It needs to be fixed.
I bring this up because the last thing I heard was a statement of policy and some vague discussion on implementation. Now, the apology to agents and adventurers suggests that the overequipping patch is a done deal.
Is this the much talked about over equipping patch?
Will you lets us know through release notes when the over equipping patch is being implemented, or will it be undocumented program features?
Is there any more information about how overequipping is going to be dealt with, like "what is allowed" and "what will be banned and how"?
The last article mentioned some ideas, but didn't seem to etch anything in stone...will you allow any further discussion on what you have decided before it is implemented?
I'm not saying I am against fixing overequipping, actually I am in favor of it. As an engy I think getting the highest bot available in the game at just slightly past halfway in my life cycle was poor game design, but, you can understand that I am concerned and want to be prepared for the changes I must adapt to.
Since this is being done so late in the game for so many people, there is going to be ugly fallout no matter how it is done, but a little preliminary info and preparations (preemptive strikes) may help quite a bit!
What we _really_ need is a "guild list" command to show us all the guild members online.
They lied to us again.
Agents will NOT be getting any attention on patch 14.0.
Neither will Adventurers.
It's official now.
I'm waiting on just one more agent related bug/nerf/outright-lie. When I see it, I am out. I refuse to be continually lied to by a company I am PAYING for service. And with Neocron, EVE, SWG, and City of Heroes all coming out within the next 4-6 months, I won't really worry about it, either. I'll give my money to someone else. I'm sure those companies will be glad to have my business.
Furthermore, I urge ALL subscribers who play agents to do the same. We have waited, most patiently, ever since the range-nerf, for the Agent prof to be fixed. We've watched other profs get fixed. We've watched other profs get needed boosts. And now the ONLY thing that makes an Agent viable (his ability to overequip his rifle) is supposedly being 'fixed.' And even this small ability to overequip doesn't help past level 85 or so, since you can have a QL200 rifle. There isn't any better. So while the other profs continue to gain after that level, the agent begins to suffer greatly. A few nano's, that's it.
I hate to leave, AO has so much potential. But as a Software Developer, I cannot stand to see so much incompetence. And as a consumer, I will NOT stand for being lied to. Funcom, you are on notice.....Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
Once more, and my time and money are going elsewhere.
And I bet a lot of other agents and adventurers will follow.
So what is the excuse this time, Cz? Oh, right. OverEquipping needs to be fixed first......yes, the only thing that makes playing an agent even viable. Yep, fix that, and Agents are history. OverEquiping has been in the game since day 1. The manual even talks about how this is a FEATURE, using nanos and implants to 'exceed' your current abilities. Ah, I see. Features need to be 'fixed', and you ignore the 'bugs'.....
Care to refute me? I doubt it, since you have yet to reply to even ONE of my posts on any of the boards.
Quoted from Cz's post:

The over-equipping patch was moved in between Martial Artist and Adventurer focuses. However, due to Agents being attached to the over-equipping patch, they naturally followed this move, and thus came before Adventurers in the line. Gaute mentioned this new order in his article on February 8th 2002, where he listed Agents after Martial Artists, which we know created a stir in the Adventurer community. Please understand that this is not due to our priority of professions changing, but the need to put the over-equipping changes into the game sooner.
Agents
The Agents have a different issue. January 30th 2002 they were given an official patch number, namely 14.0. This would be their go, finally. But again, schedules change. This time due to the over-equipping changes taking more time than expected. Many issues have to be sorted out before we can implement this, and a postponement was unfortunately needed. And as above, the Agents follow this patch, and will have an extended wait.
Basically, it sounds to me like they're saying that they will fix Agents at EXACTLY the same time they fix over-equipping, because they realize the two are linked.
So, no reply on the boards, maybe, but it seems like your concern is being addressed, Shylara.
Sounds more to me like they will go through with the Overequipping nerf first. Then the Agent patches.
Oh well. Doesn't really matter any longer. That overequipping patch will kill the last remnants of the most promising game and the game with the most potential ever.
Go through with the Over Equipping patch and most people will leave.
And no I have not Complit exploited or treatment exploited. My Implants are 12 lvls higher than me, my armor is the same lvl or about 5 levels higher and my gun is the same. around my level.
Wow. I do 22 damage on one gun and 30 on the other. I meet the 80% demand.
Now are you gonna tell me that it is possible to solo with guns you meet the reqs of?
Its simple really. Nerf Overequipping and I am out. And I am taking a lot of people with me.
Agreed.. listing my guild members online would be great.. I hate having to say "is so and so online" on the guild chat just because I don't keep every member in my friend's list..

Well, that post makes it sound like the OE patch was postponed, and therefore they had to postpone the agent patch along with it.
But that's just my reading.
Oh, yeah. One more quick point.
Agents will *still* have their rifle over-equipping nanos at higher levels. As long as you keep said nano running, you can still overequip your rifle.
Fixers, on the other hand, having NO SMG BUFF and NO BURST BUFF (Minor Suppressor does NOT count... come on) will be unable to do the same.
Yes, they will fix over-equipping. They'll probably fix Agents at the same time, but EVEN IF they don't, you guys will still be capable of using a rifle much higher in level than yourself.
And before you comment "Not until level 60" or whatever.... just remember, fixers never get an SMG buff. Never.
Team missions sound cool, and the layered dungeon shot looks AWESOME. Im excited!
I agree with the one poster, i too seem to be getting trimmers and maps out the wazoo since the chest fix patch. Money is money but a bit more variety again would be nice.
The /list I think would be annoying. Sucks in EQ and i left EQ for AO and no real reason for it.
Cant wait ;)

At high levels we already have 200 weapons on , what is the point of the buff except to add to our attck rating!Quote:

Where is the Guild Appartments!!!!!!
We have been waiting a loooooooong time......

The point is that with the OE patch you WON'T be as massively overequipped. However, since an agent can self-buff his rifle skill reasonably well, you can keep that buff running and thereby overequip a lot more effectively than a class that has no self-buffing capability... like, say, a Fixer. =)
Right now, I agree with you. But I was talking about post-OE patch.
Fixers need major suppression!! Get there attack rating up!Quote:

Of course, if the OE patch happens, they'll fix MOB hps at the same time, this is stated policy. What all this will mean in real terms though... Guess we'll just have to wait and see.Quote:

Then maybe Lay Down The Law, one level beyond. =)

Well, consider this then. They will make mobs soloable with the weapons and damage you just described.
Not only by overequippers.
How can this be a bad thing?

They NEED to fix overequiping for several reasons:
1. It makes the game totally impossible to balance. Example (just relatively speaking, not exact numbers) If an overequipped level 150 can hit for 900-1500 and a normal equipped player can hit for 150-300 then the game is a joke for the overequipped or impossible for the normal equipped. Either or, but you can't balance for both.
2. It makes PvP impossible to balance because you can't balance classes who vary from normal to 10x normal in terms of ability.
My suggested fix for overequipping is:
1. Max QL of an item you can equip is your level * 1.15 or 15%. So a level 100 could use a 115. and a 10 could use a QL of 12. That's a big boost itself, but level 110 players shouldn't be running around with QL 200 items.
2. Make it such that BUFFS OR DEBUFFS do not effect what you can equip, including installing implants. Only items your currently wearing, and your base statistics should effect what you can equip or use. Buffs should just make what your using more effective (IE weapon/nano buffs make you hit more consistently and have a higher chance of critical).
3. Rebalance the monsters at the same time the above is done.
The number one reason people are *****ing about specific classes being unbalanced is because of overequipping. Classes right now aren't balanced by their abilities, but by how much can X class overequip.
Let them fix overequiping so they can finally actually balance the game.
The reason you need to overequip at the high levels is because they had to tune the monsters for those overequippers. Now those who don't overequip have a hard time BECAUSE overequipping is possible.
Personally I don't think any class balance should be even looked at until they've eliminated massive overequipping. Because it's impossible to balance right now with overequipping unless you do one of the following:
1. Balance for no overequipping. Then those who don't can play a fun and challenging game. Those who do overequip then get to one shot kill in PvP those who don't, and kill anything and everything in the game with contemptuous ease.
2. Balance for overequipping. Now people MUST overequip or they won't be able to play the game at all. Now you've got to consider huge variances in Player power in PvP due to amount of overequipping you can do at different levels. IE you have to consider a level 20 soldier with a QL80 gun relative to a nano-technician who can cast QL25 nano's max. How do you expect to balance that?
Remove overequipping and now you just have to balance classes based on their skills at their level and available weapons for that QL.
For those of you complaining about the Agent. Try a soldier! At lvl44, I can barely scrape through a 50% solo mission. Can't tank, unless I want to walk back to the mission area several times. Damage? Are you kidding, I get out done by every character on the block! Fling, Burst....here's a joke..these 2 stupid attacks Rarely do more than 3-5 extra points of damage and almost never get critical hits. Oh boy, that is alot of help, and heaven forbid if I try to use one of those while right before my weapon goes empty. Then I just get a lovely message about "wait for your last attack to finish," when I never got the attack to begin with. At lvl 44 I can (struggling) make it through missions consisting of lvl 33-36 mobs. It takes forever to kill a grey even.
Those of you crying about PvP weaknesses. Tough, the thought of PvP is stupid in AO to begin with. Go play Counter-Strike, or Quake. There is your PvP.
I think the Team Mission Should have been installed(worked) BEFORE you took out the single mission sharing. So, you'll get no "good boy" from me for something else you did WRONG!!!
Then there are the "treasure chests" I've never seen more crap in my life! I could open my own map store!!! Mort, Newland, and repeat. No Map should ever be in a treasure chest. It Is NOT treasure, not even rare or hard to find. Empty chests are just as retarded. I have gone through mission where all ya get is 10 maps NL, 10 maps Mort, and empty chests from here to eternity. This is CRAP, not a prize!!
As for us complaining people. I pay, therefore, I have a RIGHT to complain, whine, and/or moan! So go gent bent, if my "opinion" hurts your little feelings.
We fixers have been relatively quiet about our sorry state in Rubi-Ka. Maybe this is because we've never been über and then nerfed later (unless you count being able to grid random people without their consent :D), maybe something else. Our situation is worse than that of Adventurers, Agents, NTs, Enforcers, MAs, or anyone else who constantly gripes and whinges about their poor characters. All of these have at least one saving grace that sets them apart and makes the game easier. We can what, run buff? Seriously, folks.Quote:

You all need to realize that stuff takes *time*, FC can't just snap their fingers and make perfect code appear, they have to work at it. And don't say it hasn't gotten better, I just started two months ago and it's easily much better now than it was then. I've talked to other people who have been playing since release, even before that, and they say today is a hundred times better than it was.
In short, be patient and STFU.
