and the first one to to mention that "the max lvl is 200" OR "there are only 4 servers!" will get slapped with a read hearing:D
My first thought was, "Hell I dont care what they do, just give me something."
But then I thought, "Be careful what you wish for."
I'm at the point now, whatever they do, I will continue, I will "soldier on".
but some lovin' would sure be nice......

Bump.
Okay .. this post is 5 pages deep and no one will read it but here goes.
Basic game mechanics put soldiers at a huge disadvantage against most if not all other proffesions at higher levels (pipe down level 15 soldiers) in PvP.
1. Damage. A soldiers only friend in the cold world of Rubi Ka is his assault rifle. However All but one (and the Div 9 isn't that great at PvP) good weapon for PvP is atainable by all classes.
That translates into Soldier+Other-proff for all other proffessions Vs. Soldier.
2. Reflect. A soldiers best defense is TMS. Which can protect him against a lot of dmg for a short period of time. However if done properly all proffesions can gain a reflect level close to if not higher than TMS on a permanent level. The Soldier has the added inability to use nanos for a long period after he uses TMS.
That translates into Solder+Other-proff. for all other proffesions Vs. Soldier-nano skills after a short period.
3. Dmg Nerf. Soldiers who where way tweaked used to be able to instantly kill thier opponents with a quick alpha strike. So FC nerfed damage. However healing still has it's full effect. Debuffs still have thier full effect. The trick (not that there is much trick to this) to killing a soldier is debuff his init or root him back off and heal.
That translates into Solder+Other-proff Vs. 1/2 of a Soldier.
So what you end up with is a proffesion where most of the games PvP mechanics work against it. Any proff that can heal will own a Soldier. Any player with a soldiers gun and some reflect bracers and a friend to cast RRF on them are 80% of a soldier and have thier own proff skills on top of that.
End of story. Not to knock the Soldiers on the top 10 PvP list ... but a title dosen't mean PvP power. It means playing the game well.
Where a soldier should accel (armed combat with others) they are the weakest of proffesions. I wanted to get into PvP ... but as I close in on title 6 I am seeing that I can't be effective as a soldier. They are basicaly broken. Who knows .. maybe beyond repair.
Right now combat is geared towards those who can last the longest, and what helps you last the longest? heals.
What do the 3 profs who suck at pvp and aint got fixes not have? heals
What is the only way to fix soldier? give us heals or massively increase our damage output so we can reduce the 10mins a doc can last in pvp.
Why won't either of these happen, because the soldier ain't meant to have heals and more damage is bad from FC's point of view, plus every other profession who has already been fixed / has no trouble in pvp will complain.
One other alternative is to make tms drain nano pool instead of last a certain time limit (same could be done with NS), why won't either of these happen? cause everyone will complain and its too clever an idea for FC to use.
We're doomed to gimpdon guys, forced to gain our titles from the odd newbie gank or duel gank. Pity really, what was meant to be one of the leading profs into combat has become nothing but a support class, and those who we're meant to stink at combat have become godly.
Since we're never getting any kind of heal nano, how about this:
A) Bright Green 1st aid skill. Yayaya, you can only use it every 30 seconds, but the best 1st aid does well over 1k heal. Soldiers are out there in the field, their ONLY healing option (disregarding the less than useless OMHH) being the use of 1st aid stims... don't ya think we'd be pretty damn good at using them? Better then a damn doc in fact. But no, it's a dark blue pain in the ass skill.
b) A massive increase in the health delta for our 'titan phisique' line of nanos. NO nothing stupid that would make it into some kind of hour long mongo (thereby pissing off all the enforcers), but something to make this line of nanos not a complete waste of ncu. Hell, if the healthdelta on titan was say... 75, you might even have people forsaking essence (since they dont stack). More health (essence) or a nice fat regen (titan).. choice is GOOD.
Thats about all i can think of that dosent involve a whole new line of healing nanos that we'll never get. Both very simple changes that would offset the shafting us soldiers have been gettin since the 12 series of patches.

Of course while we've been getting occationally shafted, agents have been repeatedly gang shafted. No matter how bad us soldiers may think we have it, nobody has been bent over the counter more then our poor agent friends. No contest.

and if they lower reqs on the CHS, then every meta, doc, nanotech, engie... etc... etc... is going to equip one too. It's nice to have a gun with reqs that you can strive towards rather than just equip now and use for the next 100 levels never getting another weapon.
I don't think Funcom will ever make the mistake of changing the color of a skill again... especially after the fiasco that happened with the multi-reqs on Adventurers.Quote:
