Uhm, engine works. It is pretty just as fast as old ones, faster in mass events.
Nothing to report, except way better than closed beta.
I am now contemplating deleting old client.
Also... Few crashes, about 3x in inferno, but then for 4h no crashes.

I turn into a fat chibi hobbit on zoning so its not fully baked atm.
But... but... what.. I don't... and here I was hoping we could beat Duke Nukem Forever... *sadface* :(

Downloaded the installer from the link provided in OP.
I already have live AO installed at c:\funcom\Anarchy Online
I pointed beta installer to c:\funcom\Anarchy Online Beta
All nice and well, but when I start AnarchyOnline.exe from beta folder, it starts the live version, not beta?
No message I have to patch, when I log in anyway, I login to live dimension :(
Edit: It does create an "Anarchy Online Beta" folder in my local appdata for preferences...
The new engine looks good and new effects are great. I suppose there's room for further improvement now (models, textures, effects).
But for me it runs slower than old engine. There I got 100fps everywhere, now it drops to 30 in bor or other cities. I have a R9 290 and running with High FXAA & 16x anisotropic quality. But changing that doesn't have any effect. Any clues as to why it runs slower on new hardware?
It seems turning off effects increases fps by 50%. The other quality options have no effect. Also with dual screen if you loose focus on AO it drops to about 10fps...

Got this bug after using a wompah from Wailing Wastes -> Varmint Woods, main gfx layer crashed into some kind of 1/4 but the HUD and stuff still worked. Compass, nano casting and I was still connected to the chat server. :confused:

Create a desktop shortcut from the local appdata directory and start the game from that.
I believe it should work from that.

New engine runs nice on live. Just one little thing has my download got a bug or have all the Dragons been given cloaking devices?
The hacked medi blade is also now a cloaked weapon

Yeah I was, just to show that the rest of the game seemed to work... :p
Hmm... now that I think about it, it was probably the 6th time I zoned unless my math is off, from OA into a backyard and then the old newbie area and then back out and to Wailing Wastes and then Varmint Woods *CRASH*.
So... I'm stuck on TestLive. I used Vhabs links, installed to a different directory... get stuck on TestLive. Then the AOPatch_v18.8.0.18_EP to 18.8.0_EP1 doesn't work, as the TestLive version I got is either 18.8.0.9 or I when I patch it hit 18.8.1.0_EP2.
So: WTB 18.8.1.0_EP2 to 18.8.1. Or if someone can tell me which files to modify to get going :q
